Just like to say that I was sceptical about this before I downloaded it...Im a massive KR fan and have been burnt recently by some of the KR imitators that try and force you into a paywall....

This isnt the case here....an excellent game and possibly the most hectic TD game ive played in a long time (While still remaining fun)...five stars!

This is a great looking, well designed, sea-faring child of Kingdom Rush. I was really surprised by the negative reviews posted on the App Store, but then again reviews on the App Store range between unreliable to stark raving mad. Thankfully the TA forum is made up people who actually rate the game and not just the IAP. Sure, it's not groundbreaking TD, but it's very good TD with great art design and plenty of charm. And, no, it's not as good as Kingdom Rush, but what TD game is?

Pirate Legends just dropped to 99cents!

    Sales must have been poor...
    At 99 cents it's a steal

With how IAP heavy this game is, it. Should be free

lol I completed it without spending a cent on IAP, there are no pay walls in here and tones of gameplay. For a buck its a no brainer imo.

Yep I saw the comment where they said it wouldn't go on sale quickly....but I decided to wait and see if it did...sure enough it has! So I've bought it now.

Good game so far, and I guess the devs had their reasons to do this...

I can't help to think this game would do better if it were in a different theme. Pirates just aren't as appealing as orcs/warriors... Other than that, this game is pretty decent.

Good call on waiting, my head told me to wait, but my TD-loving heart wouldn't cooperate. I have no issue with a developer having a sale, though when it's not even a week after release, it does annoy me a little. Also, releasing this game the same week as PvZ2 was probably the worst thing these developers could have done for their sales, but makes it easier to understand this price drop. At a buck this should be an 'instabuy' for all TD fans.

Can't wait to see what Superhippo is going to say about the less than a week going on sale, even if they did mention no sale soon. Oh wait, maybe soon means a day, and a week is like a year for them. Totally lost my respect to this Dev. I wanted to support the Dev by buying the first hour of its release, and this is what you get.

I dont see the dev coming here to post after having a sale right after they said they wouldnt. I am kind of shocked, lesson learned for me.

Good one lol. The dev gave early adopters a really bad taste in their mouth. This sale may actually do them harm than good, since many early adopters are angry about the dev statement of not having a sale anytime soon and now many people will just wait for the game to go free now (like the one above). Really bad move. Hopefully other devs can learn from this mistake. Why don't you just put the game on sale for early adopters and then increase the price back up after that? Some people said that the early adopters going to buy the game anyway, but many of these people are hardcore IOS gamers who wil give you a critical and useful feedback for your games. Some will even recommend the game to their friends/ colleagues who are casual/non gamers, while most of the people who grab the game on sale will just say yes! I have got a bargain and then bugger off.

I agree with above post. Im a hardcore ios gamer and buy many games. Hippo did a horrible move. They charge3.99 and have iap. Usually most games with iap do 99cents to hit a bigger audience and then iap purchase for more money. Makes more sense to me. Not charging 3.99$ when i specifically asked can u unlock everything without iap and hippo said yes so i buy game and find out there iap for heroes:(. They really ruined there name on toucharcade imo.
