For residents living in the UK, bad move because piracy will simply increase - http://www.themetropolist.com/play/latest-play/online-piracy-longer-criminal-offence-uk
It won't increase in my opinion but it is something that could never be realistically stopped it's like the war on drugs in the US. Lets not forget that most piracy sites are already blocked at an ISP level in the UK and it's now a lot easier than it used to be to get things cheaply and easily whether it's games, music, videos, ebooks or anything else. I'd honestly just say whats easier for the average joe in the UK downloading a game legally on steam for a few pounds and getting all future updates and support, or learning how to use VPNs, torrents and probably paying more than the game actually cost just for the price of a good VPN. As long as companies keep their prices fair and realistic they have nothing to fear from piracy these days especially in the UK.
I'm guessing this is a joke, is there anymore news on this? The UK has censored the internet, you can't even access torrent websites without using a proxy anymore, so I'm highly skeptical any of this is true.
Can't blame the government for that. We all know why people use torrents. Think it's impossible to stop. They shut down one torrent site and another appears
Yeah they're wasting their time. Their porn filter is so annoying too, I had to ring up to get mine disabled because it wouldn't let me access a non-porn website, try telling the customer service person that and have them believe you!
