The coins are used to unlock Pinballs faster, nothing more I don't really understand why people are so surprised paid games include IAP's. It seems a common concern on this forum. However, it's an extremely viable monetisation model for developers, all the way from indie to AAA studios. As for the players, it simply offers a way for those with less time to unlock things quicker if they want to. The IAPs are entirely optional, and don't provide any advantages or benefits other than saving play-time. They're not used or needed to enjoy or progress in the game. This is actually the model I use now, since moving away from integrating ads. It means I no-longer need ad networks to track users, and they retain their full privacy. I've actually replied to you before explaining this. Out of curiosity, why are you so against Paid games with IAP? Or is it games that lock progress behind paywalls that concern you? Would love to know. Thanks. Thank you for your feedback. I will arrange some gifs or videos and update the page later today. I totally understand. I hope in this instance it's a satisfying and fun experience. The currencies are used to unlock different "pinballs". The currency and IAP are completely optional and not needed to progress in the game anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,111 680 113 #5 anthony78, May 22, 2023 When I buy premium games I want to pay once for it. And 90% of the paid games I buy do have no IAPs at all. If it’s only for cosmetics and doesn’t affect gameplay, it’s fine. But when they do affect gameplay, it’s an automatic do not buy for me. I don’t spend money on games that have an endless pit of IAPs. adin, orangecan and Alex DeLargest like this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,111 680 113 #6 anthony78, May 22, 2023 So bought the game because I love both pinball and solitaire and figured it was right up my alley. I like it but it ultimately feels a bit shallow. Since the cards appear on the level in the order they need to be for each suit, it really just becomes a game where the basic goal is just not to lose your ball before you hit all the cards. Not sure if it would work but I thought you’d have to hit the right cards in order (ie., stack has a 2 of hearts and both 3 and 4 are on the table so you have to try to get 3 before you can get 4). Again, not sure if that is even viable but the current game is just lacking in strategy IMO. Maybe things change as you progress. Not sure. adin and Alex DeLargest like this. So I guess they are nice to have as an option but not needed to finish the game - again, if I understood correctly what the OP said. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, just came to congratulate AaroArts on the release and wish him good luck, the game looks very polished and well designed. AaroArts and anthony78 like this. For example I never buy Battle Passes for AAA games, and tend to avoid those games in general. I purely added optional extras (that don't affect progression or offer advantages) as a way to make up the lost revenue from not tracking users. And based on the AppStore analytics from Apple they are often popular. Of course it's not for everyone though. Thank you so much for the support and invaluable feedback. This is why I still come back to this forum. What you describe would be a nice mode to add in a future update. I will look into this. Thanks again for responding. These IAP are purely to unlock Pinballs faster, and by no means offer any advantages or benefits other than cosmetically. Purely optional. I use this financial model as it has worked in the past, seems popular in most cases (again only cosmetically), and allows me to step away from tracking users, keeping them private. Maybe I need to highlight the reasons for this better in apps descriptions. Thank you for the support. It seems like the ball has to be going kinda fast to clear them. For example, if the ball just lightly bounces on top of a card after banking off the wall (or ceiling), a lot of times the card stays the same. In contrast, the ball will do a series of really fast, shallow bounces (like when it’s coming to rest on top of a card), and then a bunch of cards will be cleared all at once from that pile. Hope that makes sense. Pretty fun game, but I feel the same way as @anthony78 regarding the Solitaire aspect not requiring any strategy. Congrats on release, best of luck, and glad to have you here, @AaroArts! Alex DeLargest and AaroArts like this. I really appreciate you taking the time to post it here. Cards not registering from the top was actually a design choice, to mimic certain Pinball games, as well as avoid clearing a whole pile of cards almost instantly. Maybe I need to fine tune the collision a bit. I will look into it. Thank you for the comment and the support.
