To cut things short, I just spent an hour playing this and I didn't even think I love pinball games that much. @Medianotzu: Please don't sell your kidney but the game does look and play awesome on iPad 2.
Thanks for the thread, since I try to download and test ALL pinballs games. But I guess, I'm really more a fan of the more complex, themed, atmospherical tables. And personally, a pinball table can't have too many ramps So, this game is well done. The physics are fantastic! But it's to unexciting for my taste, too harmless. But I will keep it for some short sessions, for sure. Damn, I would love to see Gladiators in Retina. This app is my favorite.
Gimme a break! About the only reason not to like TA is some other people's intolerance to other people's difference of opinion! What's wrong with some people liking something and other people not without someone feeling they have to take a shot at the other for not agreeing? Stating if you don't like one game means to you like that person doesn't like the whole genre is ridiculous, presumptious, ignorant, and just plain immature! There's nothing wrong with a difference of opinion, but there's no reason to try and cut someone down because they differ.
Great pinball game. Not as flashy as say War or Slayer Pinball, but I'm enjoying this one more than those games. Not to say that those are bad - on the contrary - but Pinball Tristan feels more like the real thing (like the Pro Pinball games of yesteryear).
My first reaction to reading this was and absolute "huh?" I actually thought your post must've been directed at someone else and you'd made a mistake. Then I still went back and read through the thread again to try to work out what could possibly have solicited such a response. I get it. I think. Let me assure you, (not that your tone warrants assurance) you were nowhere near the forefront of my mind when I posted my impressions. I was merely commenting on the game. I see how you took what you took but really, a grain of common sense would have told you there's more than sufficient doubt. I might be the last person who should be lecturing others on containing their sense of self importance, but man there are limits. Try biting your tongue next time, if only for 10 minutes. It works for me more often than some folks here might imagine.
Oh lol I was when I read that post. I came to the conclusion that pinball distorts logic I've stalked this thread for 9 hours and let me say that I am still not convinced that I should shell out some mulla for this game. Although player responses/impressions are more than positive, I still prefer some 'hands-on' experience or visual confirmation before deciding to make a purchase. Will a full length gameplay video (not trailer) or lite version be coming out anytime soon?
Exactly....for this app you absolutely must have the latest iOS....I haven't experienced that with another game....but it will not work properly with a older operating system (even 1 update behind).....trust me......I found out first hand.
Y'know, actually...it works fine on my iPod Touch 4G with 4.3.2. Must just be an iPhone 4 running later OS thing.
What on earth are you talking about here? Your post is so disjointed and has so little in common with the text you quoted that I can only conclude you were actually trying to reply to some other post. Possibly from another thread entirely.
Bought it and i am very happy ! My favorite Last Gladiators are a bit behind concerning physiks but both are on top of the pinball-cake ! The real thing it is.
I'm not normally a fan of Pinball games that have no ramps etc but I took a punt on this and I'm glad I did it's superb
I must have played this 50 times so far. It's really hard to put down. When I woke up this morning, I played even before I checked TA! Controls are very good and the physics are close to perfect. Must-buy. While I'm so glad it doesn't have those ridiculously long paddles that make drains impossible, I do wish they were a teeny bit longer or closer, to allow for better control of the ball. The current sizing and placement is common to machines of the era they are simulating, so it's not a deal-breaker or anything.
This is a really great pinball game. I knew it would be, as this is the same team (I believe) that developed Crystal Caliburn back in the early 90s. I remember submitting a high score for that game via postal mail and receiving a T-Shirt back from the developers.
Honestly, with everything Apple puts under the hood in the OS, who knows...just glad you got this great game working so you can enjoy it.
I'm a huge fan of pinball on iOS, and am looking forward to someone posting a gameplay video. As many fans as this game has on TA, I'm surprised one hasn't popped up yet.
Great fun, and -really- looking forward to their doing Loony Labyrinth for iOS, my favourite of the LW pinballs, speech feedback ftw, and a wonderful sense of humour . And, their latest for Mac/PC is on sale and tempting....
Finally had a chance to play on my iPad and it's perfect! The larger screen makes it feel like a true tabletop pinball machine. I hope they do more or bring more tables out that use this engine. Added to my favorites folder.
