Here's the flippers that we've done so far for the cosmetics upgrade With the 'flame' one in action, against an angry mob.
Oh hell yea my first purchase is the flame ones. You know it. Billy And the balls? Hehe you need to take your logo and make it into a ball. I'd purchase it and it would look great in the game. The one you have right in your profile.
Heh actually, we're using a structure where you have to unlock all cosmetics of a kind in the right order and guess which one is last? I'm not sure we'll keep it that way though, depending on feedback. That said, if we regress to an 'unlock what you want' approach, there will probably be more variations in items cost. Ah, we'll have to look into that idea
Regarding my sound effect issue with the spinners. While they do stack and get louder and louder, I had the music level down below the sounds level, so it was exaggerated on my game. Sorry! The flippers look awesome! I added screenshots of two maps I was having issues with. Very hard to get the ball into those little coves, so you end up just sitting there waiting for it to reach the bottom to drop off the grey blocks, then scrambling to hit them all. Not sure if its even possible to that low on the screen (I can't!) And even if you do, you're waiting for the full wall of grey to go away to hit blocks in the next wave. The screen with the three little channels isn't as bad, but they are blocks that require multiple hits, and its very challenging. Might be a turn off if encountered too early on in the game. And I'm glad you are revamping the store screens. I didn't even know there were multiple pages! I only noticed the arrow buttons last night. haha... lots of items to buy in there! Thanks!
SFX volume on spinners might be a bit high nonetheless so we'll reduce it a bit. The map on the second pic can be beaten by using rebounds but anyway, I've went through all maps with hard blocks in order to smooth them up. Hopefully this week we'll finish the pass on cosmetics in order to have a new build early next week.
Really? Nope. Don't like that idea AT ALL. Don't force me to buy things I don't want. It makes me not want to buy anything. Give the players a choice. Make things cost more or less. That's fine. But don't make me buy cosmetics I don't want. Billy
Yeah I think progressive cosmetics unlock could me done, with some modifications, but right now it would be simpler to just unlock everything. So you're the kind of player that only unlock the best cosmetic item he sees, or you usually buy a few items just to try them out?
Normally I like to unlock the best things I see. However. If I really like the game and devs I'll usually get everything just to have it complete. For instance take a game called waste in space. I spent money on the coin doubler but then went and bought the best character and helmet because I really liked the devs. I didn't have to. I just did. I have a set limit. In games I really like I'll spend up to $20. But I absolutely don't like being forced into things. That's why I'm so anti energy timers. Billy
I also only buy the few items I really like. I never buy everything or try to collect everything as far as aesthetics. I am a fan of coin doublers, and I'll buy an aesthetic item now and then if it's really cool. Or work specifically towards it if the objectives to unlock each item are different.
The planned pass on cosmetics is almost done so we're getting close to a new beta build. More details to come soon!
Super good concept and game. Beautiful visuals. Having a ton of fun with this beta. Many thanks team!
Awesome! The new beta build is available: - Added cosmetics for the shop, flippers, balls and covers. - Revamped the shop to make it easier to read and switched to swipe controls. - Added emphasis on the 'invasion' aspects. - Started to add the monetization layer, interstitial ads for now. - Game balance: nerfed a lot of maps based on hard blocks and increased the time coins where present on screen. - Started to work on MFI controllers, achievements and localization (incomplete) - Bunch of tweaks and bug fixes
Already playing! Love the new start where it says attack incoming. Now it makes sense. I love the new cosmetics. Absolutely looooooove all of it. You added my XZ ball! I'm so happy! I really thought that was a kick ass idea. That's going to be my first purchase for sure. I'm a loyalist fanboy. I gotta do it lol. Where is the IAP to remove the forced ads? They do work. But for the beta they are just an annoyance. Can you please put in the next build the ability for us to buy a way to disable them or just disable them for the beta. Also will you be adding consumable coin packs? If the game uses iCloud back up saves I bet people would buy coin packs. I usually never, ever, buy consumable Iap. But if there is cloud saving and I love the game and devs I'll sometimes do it. I'd do it for this game. The cosmetics are fantastic. I can't wait for a coin doubler too. I know for sure if it was released today I'd spend money to disable ads, double coins, and I'd probably buy a coin pack to get those flame flippers, flame guards, and my XZ ball. Then I'd play hard for the rest. You should add opt in ads for coins that also double if you buy the coin doubler. I'd definitely watch opt in ads for coins in this game. Man I love this game. It just clicks with me so much. I'm done typing. I'm going back to play. I got 70 more coins to earn to get my ball. Hehe playing really is so much fun. You guys really have nailed this game. Billy
It's not implemented yet but there will be a 1.99$ IAP that will both disable ads and double coins. There will also be a couple coins pack (probably 1$ and 5$) and rewarded videos (probably for extra HP and coins). I'm getting 100-200 coins per run when I play, which seems generous, but I'm still wondering how less experienced players are doing and if the coins they get is enough to get a sense of progression.
Love the new build! The Incoming Attack text makes more sense, as do the aliens showing their faces when a new ball is released. Keeps you engaged in the 'story'. The store is also much easier to navigate, and the skins look awesome! Good idea jacking up the price on some of the skins - like 750 for the flames. Then people can still save up to get them without having to grind through the other levels. I am also able to make 2-3 shots at coins before they disappear! Awesome. Are the waves now timed? I noticed that new waves show up before old waves are finished. Seems more pronounced now. One small idea, maybe finishing a wave would cause the grey blocks to disappear? Although I do kinda like that you have to work around them until they hit the bottom, it might be tougher depending on the layout. I'm guessing the waves are random. Great job! Can't wait to play more.
Oh, and did you take away a 'life'? I'm only seeing two lives now, but I thought there used to be three...? Coins might be too generous. I also earn around 100 per game. It's exciting collecting them by hitting blocks, but I don't know all the ways they are dispersed.
It was only a visual change. The light now represents the number of 'shields' you have left and before it represented the number of HP. Your number of HP = shields +1. Not sure if I understand you correctly but new waves always appeared before old waves were finished, if it took you too long to complete them. Perhaps it's just that you're making it further into the game. And hard blocks are also cleared when you clear a wave. If you see hard blocks remaining, it must be that there's still blocks remaining belonging to the wave. If there's 2 waves present on screen, these blocks might appear as being part of the other wave, which might explain your comment. And yeah it's a double random structure. There's 10 levels of waves, each containing 15-20 waves. Levels are ordered by order of difficulty. Each time you clear a wave, you increase the chance of spawning a wave of higher level and waves are picked up randomly in a set of chosen difficulty.
That's too generous. Really. But if that's how you want to do it you absolutely have my $2 and I'll be buying a few coin packs to send some money your way. That's really really generous of you guys to make it a package deal for only $2. I love you guys. And I'll definitely be watching opt in ads for the rewards too. Extra hp and coins sound like good rewards to me. Btw. One thing I forgot to mention. I really love when a ball drops down and you lose it and then all the monsters faces come out. Basically they are laughing at you. I remember thinking. Ok you sons a bitches. Lol. That's a nice touch. Again you guys are nailing this game. I can't say it enough. I can't wait for everyone to play this game. Billy
