Actually, I wouldn't mind if the FS guys took a few months off from releasing new tables and focused on bringing all the current ones up to a more level standard. I know there are plans to re-do the logic of some table (Black Knight) using ROM emulation rather than scripting but its taking forever. But I think a lot of the tables could use a visual upgrade as well. I tend to think that there are two different "sets" of tables - one set that looks just fantastic and a second set that I refer to as "clutter-muss" tables. In the first set I'd include tables like Attack From Mars, Gorgar, Space Shuttle, and a couple others. These tables are super clean, smooth...just very eye-appealing. Then there's the other tables like Ripley's, Medieval Madness, Circus Voltaire and a bunch more that to me anyway really look pretty messy and rough. CV isn't bad really, but the rails are so low-poly that it bugs me. I love MM, but I don't find it very pleasing to look at at all.

Actually, I sometimes wonder if there aren't two different teams responsible for the visual designs at FS and one is just better than the other...

I've been reading the forums over at PinballArcadefans and its interesting to me that the ios/android versions of PA seem to get better "service" in terms of bug fixes and so forth than the console versions.

Flight 2000 is fantastic! Too bad that as interesting as Goin' Nuts backstory is, I don't find it fun to play at all.

A 1" drill bit, two microswitch buttons from an arcade supply and 4 wires is all that it would take to put flipper buttons on the sides of an iCade cabinet.

Oh i see, add buttons and add a 'switch'. Sounds good, if you live in England let me know and i'll pay you to fix mine ! ;)

Reckon from September onwards once iOS7 is out there'll be a huge number of external joysticks etc (hopefully)

As for the app i'm not a pinball expert, i'm not a hardcore fan so any table issues/glitches dont really stand out to me to be honest.

That's a good idea to have that option there for you when you play pinball games!

That's simply because there are more hurdles involved in releasing updates/patches for console games than there are in releasing updates for the other platforms.

Yeah they explained in one of their interviews the amount of hassle it is to get an update signed off on a console version. Some of the comments below the interview seemed to kinda apologise as the users then realised how much trouble it is for them.

Its not that they dont want to update it, just it can take some time with the process/copyright holders etc

Yeah I didn't mean that as aN attack on FS at all. I'm sure there are very valid reasons for it, but the end result remains the same. The iOS version of these tables often are more updated/less buggy than the console versions...

After playing Zen pinball and switching to Pinball Arcade, tables did look graphically bad at beginning, but after some time I didn't mind , having original tables that were and still are popular is awesome.I'm always excited to see new tables and try them out, to be honest I played only 2 pinball machines at younger age and enjoyed them both ; with PA I can feel something similar like back then when exploring all tables which is cool.
Btw I will ever go so far and say that iPad is ideal and best platform for playing PA.
I'm not much into "older" tables, their gameplay and table designs are too simple for me and can't get longer playing sessions out of that.Gorgar, Taxi and Genie are exceptions though. As said by many others already, Gorgar artwork looks beautifull and looks like PA did put more work into table details.Seawitch looks like another older table I would enjoy playing from pictures on pinball database site.
Aside graphic and table difficulty of some, my top favourite ones are Medieval Madness , Cactus Canyon and Monster Bash.
Star Trek was biggest disappointment , it frustrates me how easily can ball be lost.
Also finally decided to buy The Champion Pub table pack, really good table so far, maybe even worth getting into favourite list after some time.

Has anyone had issues with this crashing on iPod touch 4 after the most recent update? I don't even know if anyone else here besides me is still playing this on one, but I enjoy having it easily portable and don't have an iPhone. It's been crashing before ever getting to a menu or load screen, and it has never failed to run before this. Help?

    Yeah !!!

Ok, this thread is too long to read back.
What's the difference between normal- and pro-table, please ? Thanks.

Edit: Meanwhile i played the free version a bit. Very, very awkward to play the right corner ! Most part is inactiv because the trigger is there. Playing on iphone is small already, and i (most?) am used to have my thumbs down there. Very annoying !

    FarSight are you here ?

The actual tables are the same, but there are additional options primarily aimed at fans of the physical tables. You won't need them.

When you're at the table screen before starting a game, open the Table Menu, choose Options, scroll down to Button Position, and adjust the placement of the trigger.

Does anyone else find PA simply being the best pinball experience out there?

I love playing the digital versions of real life machines. Played Creatures from the black lagoon at a bowling alley the other day and then played the same table on my phone. Not sure if its right but I think I enjoyed the digital version more.

I get stoked on days like yhis when seeing my PA update notification.

    Thank you so much...now it's perfect !

Lazy me, but i'm just so overwhelmed to play my personal best table...

Found some on wikipedia/farsight about the Pro version. Not really needed, but i bought it anyways. I spent so much back in my arcade days, easily a new ipad worth.

This and Asphalt8 is my last reason to buy the next ipad (my first one).

    Thank you FarSight
