Does everyone read the table instructions before playing a new table? I try to and really want to know all the goals and everything but DAMN they are so long I never make it all the way through them...
Sometimes for the heck of it, or, if I was curious to figure out, "What loops do they expect me to jump through to start THAT mode".
Cute with some fun gimmicks: Champion's Pub: This one is styled after some sort of late 1800s boxing club with the primary emphasis being on hitting a big top and center punching bag/opponent multiple times until cleared. Not sure if it even measures the force of the hit as well. Since this target is directly in line with the central flipper gap, caution must be taken when hitting the primary target. It even has a couple of cute mechanical side games like jumping rope and little micro table speed bag. Whirlwind: The big gimmick here is three centrally located spinning discs that do a great job of sending the ball off in random directions as it runs over them.
Sounds like a barrel of monkeys! Thanks for the descriptions of the tables. Might have to pick them up
Just posting this as a reminder for those interested in the Terminator 2 table for Pinball Arcade. FarSight has officially confirmed something we were already unofficially aware of, namely that the Terminator license in general has been acquired by a third party, so if the current Kickstarter for the Terminator 2 table doesn't succeed it will be impossible for FarSight to get another chance at this license at any point in the foreseeable future. The practical upshot of the KS failing is that there will be no T2 table, ever. Link to the Terminator 2 KS project: Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Last two updates were great. Four nice tables that play well in PA. Centaur and Champion's Pub in particular are two I wasn't familiar with and have been enjoying a lot.
Help this guys! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-terminator-2-judgment-day
So, I've just fired this up after a long time without doing so and it looks like quite a lot has been done to improve the app in general and to repair some of the issues with individual tables (for instance I note that the few flippers that used to do so no longer allow balls to go through them from behind). I'm also finding that the tables play better in landscape mode than portrait and that they seem to play really great on the Ipad mini. So, I'm looking for advice on the tables released in the past few months. I think I've got all but about 6 or 8 of the first season table and none of season 2. What would you PA addicts recommend as being the best three or four tables? I tend to like the less-cluttered, more "old school" tables like Gorgar and Taxi although a really love Medieval Madness too. From what I'm reading it sounds like Whirlwind/Champion's Pub would be a good set to grab. Oh, and what are these "pro" tables all about? Worth the extra $?
Definitely my favorite app, and I have a lot of em. I would just throw down for the season passes and get em all. Personally, I don't think the pro tables are necessary, but I'm not a pro either.
New update avaliable alongside new table pack ! - Table Pack 16: Flight 2000 and Goin' Nuts has been added to Season 2. - White Water is the new Table of the Month. - New Pinball Magazine ads for Table of the Month. - Added a "Language" option to the Options menu so that the user can manually select the app's language. - Added Touch Scheme F. - Added up and diagonal nudging to the iCade joystick. - The app version numbering system has been changed. The first number indicates which season we're on, the second number indicates which table pack of the season we're on, and the third number indicates the minor build number of the table pack. Just a reminder, Terminator 2 table kickstarter has been successful , so it should be next table in line to hit us.
Thanks for the update! Can't wait for the Terminator table. Don't remember playing it but love the movies. I just got back from watching my bro bowl a tournament. They had creatures of the black lagoon at the bowling alley so I plaed a few games. Burned through $4 pretty quick which reminded me how awesome this app is, especially the value when buying the season pass. Keep up the good work!
This is why you should stand by a pinball table playing the same one in PA, and when somebody comes by to see what you're doing, tell them with a straight face that you just scanned that physical table into your device and see if they believe you.
What a strange table selection again. still waiting for the release of the following really great tables: Eight Ball Deluxe, Paragon, Cyclone, Xenon, High Speed II,Lost World,Jet Spin, Circus/Bally
I like Flight2000 a lot, but I really love the older, less convoluted tables like Gorgar and Fireball so ymmv. Goin Nuts is a real curiosity piece so I like having it in the game. I've bought a few table packs over the past few days and man, Attack from Mars is absolutely fantastic! Space Shuttle is great too...
Well i'm loving this app more and more. I've got all the tables and like you say some of the older ones make a nice change from the modern ones. I think its 33 tables now ! Amazing. Filesize is obviously creeping up but this is one app i have to have with me at all times. Love the variety and trying the other tables. Going to a big retro show in October which features a large pinball section, its great seeing the actual original and then appreciating even more the great detail that we've got on our iOS versions. A great app
Terminator 2 is due next, then The Addams Family if things go well, with Indiana Jones to follow (maybe). ^_^
Yeah i'm really looking forward to those. Really enjoy the end of the month now as thats when two new tables appear In an ideal world we would have an app for old arcade games which gets updated every month, i think this app alone shows the problems for licensing etc though. Hope iCade or someone else releases a new device with buttons at the side for a true pinball experience
