You're not alone on this with the update, the key is, if willing to lose local achievements and top scores, to uniinstall and re-install Pinball Arcade and you should be good to go (fixed the same issue many of us had had with this update on iPhone 5s with every table crashing on startup). Also, as I just discovered probably YEARS after the feature may have been first implemented, there is a Manage Tables thing in Options that allows you to simply grab the latest versions of all of your registered tables (I long thought I had to go check each table individually).
Yeah I just tried the app after a hardwire of my device and no it keeps crashing so okay I'll delete the app and redownload. I'm not worried about the scores. Nice to know about the manage tables in the option menu. I always thought it was this laborious one by one redownloading of every table. Thanks again
Does pinball arcade ever have single table sales , only thing I see for saving some money is buying table packs and whole season tables, but that's a lot of money Is pro pack worth to buy ? I played Zen Pinball a lot , just adore their "easier" ball physics, all those animations around and table features overall. And tables are easy to get into even for people who aren't pros at pinball like me On the other hand, playing PA after Zen, ball physics and bumpers sensitivity is way different, too realistic Only table I'm interested into currently is Star Trek : The Next generation.
While far from a master of either Zen or PA, I do think me having played a lot of the Zen tables has thrown off what little PA mojo I might have had previously. While true pinheads may disagree, the play in PA is much more realistic than in Zen and, yes, can be pretty cruel at times. I have a theory and wonder if the tables in PA support it, at least in general. The older the table the harder it is. I swear these older tables, pre-dot matrix score displays, often have much wider gaps inbetween the flippers. It's almost like you can see how pinball tables have evolved from pachinko machines where you were never expected to keep the ball in play for more than a few seconds.
^ The redownloading worked for PA! I checked out free play on Centaur and its a gorgeous table but man the GAP between the flippers is enormous. I don't know about how long each game can last for me I looked at the leaderboard for this game and the top scores... Those people have some serious mojo going on!
I assume some of these folks have mastered the use of nudging which I still never remember to use at critical moments. It is kind of tough and, do other tables do this, both bank of targets offere extra bonus rewards if you knock down the bank of targets IN ORDER. Just knocking down a bank is decent enough, but if all 4 targets of the bank are knocked in order it will net you much more.
Yeah I rarely if ever nudge! I like the fact that I'm a slow learning newbie with these tables. I'd hate to be so good to the point of perfection because I'm sure that would drive me crazy with games like these where mastery is a delusion and wishful thinking Nice to know about hitting targets in a certain order for extra bonus points. Maybe someday I'll look into that!
While reading those entire guides for a table (sometimes hundreds of pages, even if mostly pictures) can be a bit tedious, I find at least skimming them darn handy in understanding a tables various modes. I've had so many cases where I might be in say "The Rope Climb" (mythincal mode for imaginary table) and 90% of the time would end up with a big MISSION FAILED before I ever even had a clue as to what I was supposed to do in the first place.
wow, they even submitted an hotfix this time! can't write... must dry tears "1.2.9 changelog: What's fixed: - Crash fixed for iOS 5.1.1 users at startup - Potential crash related to Save Game files for all users fixed - HUD on Bride of Pinbot and Funhouse"
FarSight Studios has launched Kickstarter to help them pay all licence rights for Terminator 2 Judgement day table. They also noted next kickstarter should be for Addams Family table http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-terminator-2-judgment-day?ref=category I personally can't wait for Bram Stoker's Dracula table kickstarter, that alongside Medieval Madness and Cactus Canyon are my favourite tables
I have all the season 1 tables and also purchased the season 2 pass. It sounds like this wont be included in my season 2 pass and I'm expected to donate more after paying $40 for upcoming season 2 tables? Is that correct...or maybe the terminator table is post season 2?
Now THAT'S what I wanna hear!! Woo-hoo!!!! Gonna have to give them some more moneys! Take it please!!!! Super excited for these two!!!!
Surely it'll post season 2. How much was the season 2 pass? Sure it was worth it with all the tales we currently have. Up to 30 now isn't it? Hopefully 2 more this Friday
Like I said, $40 US. Season 2 only included a few tables but will get the rest as they become available. Season 1 has all the previous tables which I bought as individually as they were released. Think season one is $30. Anyone know the answer to my previous question?
No, according to the developers it's just a straightforward financial issue that causes KS for certain tables to be necessary. Based on the current number of customers, if FarSight were to try to directly recover T2's licensing costs through table sales they'd have to charge so much for it that the number of people willing to pay the required amount would drop severely, leading into an endless spiral where FarSight would never be able to cover the costs and would ultimately make a loss on the table. Just like the licensed Star Trek was part of the first season, you can expect T2 to be part of the second season: assuming the KS is successful, the release date is currently slated for August this year, and season two only has eight tables at the moment, compared to the first season's total of 22.
Updated with new tables Champion Pub and Whirlwind. I absolutely love both these tables in real life, definite buys for me.
I'm hoping we will see one of the newer Stern tables like Big Buck Hunter eventually get ported. I'm also hoping Fish Tales will be available in the not too distant future.
