same issue here... bug (genie has got a similar one)? cactus canyon is pretty funny, there is a "update all" button, zen's "boba fett" is nothing less than amazing, so i guess, i'm currently a happy camper with ios-pinball ps: after reading CPs table instructions, i'm sure its a bug... had at least 5 extra balls in a single "play"
Is Boba Fett worth it? It's the only table of the SW pack I haven't gone for yet. Its layout seems a bit generic to me. I can understand the entertainment from the theme, that's what Zen is known for anyway, but I'm looking for something that will last longer than its visual appeal. --- Pricing scheme non-withstanding, I'm really digging what Farsight is doing with PA. I get so much entertainment out of my investment; it's one of the very few iOS apps for which I don't mind opening my wallet regularly. App has been rock solid-stable on my 1st gen iPad since the iOS 6.1 upgrade, surprisingly. The last few updates haven't been as interesting as before, save for the mechanical ones. Twilight Zone set the bar quite high. I'm looking forward to being introduced to something truly rewarding in the near future.
in my opinion, boba is the best of the three and would also perform very well as a real life table (because of it's generic design?) well worth the (small) money and a fantastic "break" from TPA... especially if you appreciate the good old "imperial march"
Thanks Janni! I'll consider it, but there are a bunch of tables waiting to be bought right now. From the Marvel bunch, I only have Thor, which is alright. Wondering where I'll go next; maybe Blade. Would really like to play the Plants Vs. Zombies table. Don't have the consoles so I'll wait.
Am I missing something, or how can you have a 1st gen iPad running iOS 6? I thought they did not receive the update. I know for a fact that mine is still running iOS 5 and was not able to update when I did my iPhone and iPod update.
Yup, you're right. I just recently upgraded to 5.1.1 from 4.0 because I felt attached to my jailbreak install for a long while and so I often get confused. It sucks, too. Some app updates have started to impose a 6.0 requirement. Talk about planned obsolescense... Anyway, thanks for clearing this out.
well, well, well... it wouldn't be farsight, if they haven't messed up something cactus canyons coloring is way too yellowish (playfield characters jumped out of a simpsons episode?) good news is, this should be a quick fix... only about two to three months
Head for the blinking lights! Whitewater and Space Shuttle are incoming for the tables of April. Can't wait for WW!
Well, these tables are a bit on the expensive side, but I really enjoy the "Arabic Nights" table and you can get it for free (if you don´t need the Pro Feature), so who am I to complain? This table is really good and makes me want to own the real thing. Will purchase more tables over the course of time I guess, but first I´ve got my self into the Revenge Of Rob-O-Bot. Anyways, which pack would you purchase first? I´ve taken a look at the "Bride Of Pinbot / Medieval" Pack, but I just can´t decide. lol Maybe I should wait for the new tables, hm.
I personally got the "Bride of Pinbot / Midieval Madness" pack, along with Theatre of Magic (my favorite table of all time!) first. Those along with Twilight Zone are the ones I would get and then just go with whatever suits your fancy.
Yeah i enjoyed the Bride of Pinbot one a lot I wouldnt say the packs are on the expensive side, i got this app at the start so paying a few dollars every month or two for new tables is nothing. Theres so many tables now its great, i love the variety of dipping in and out of each one. Think it plays really well, looking forward to the next two coming soon hopefully
Thanks for your recommendations. I will first purchase Bride of Pinbot / Medieval Madness as both of these table seem to be very good and might process along "Theatre Of Magic" and "Twilight" after having a few test plays. Yeah, that´s what I get for being late to the party. The choices are just a bit overwhelming for a new user.
Yep good point, the other week i worked out how much i've spent on all the tables on Pinball arcade - quite a lot ! Doesnt seem to bad spread over months. The Star Trek table is great as is the Twilight Zone one. You can tell a lot of effort has been put into these tables, i love having a couple of goes on one and then switching to another. Its become one of my favourite apps
If you want to see some amazing pinball play, the Pinburgh finals on Sunday will get live broadcast treatment here: http://geekgamer.tv/live They broadcast the PAPA Circuit Finals yesterday and it was fantastic. The skill on display was amazing. I didn't get anything done all day. I probably watched it for 7 or 8 hours. LOL. You'll learn a lot of technique and strategy too.
Space Shuttle looks and plays very good (besides the nerve-wrecking sounds of the original machine). White Water looks a bit over-saturated (but not as bad as Cactus Canyon) and plays very fast (not my favorite table to be honest... too much ramp-shooting, with almost no slowdowns). New bugs are also available: SS highscores doesn't save, table updates for other tables doesn't download... so let's wait for the next update... again
Apparently it now supports iCade (and compatibles). I haven't tried it yet. You need to turn on iCade support, which is kind of hidden in the settings. Also: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/papapinball/papa-tv-livestreaming-pinball !!! Pledge if you love pinball!
Tried earlier. Couldn't find a setting for icade Let me know how you get on Edit - just found it by scrolling down the main menu
