After the latest update i'm experiencing severe crashing. Ipad3 IOS 6.1. Anyone else? For obvious reasons i'm very reluctant to reinstall.
Been awhile since I tried it, but looks like it enabled advanced shading/lighting on the tables. Makes my iPad 3 run in slow motion.
Never saw the big gain of the effect and when it causes even my iPad 3 to significantly chug, it just ain't worth it.
great twilight zone update... i'm lovin it, finally firepower is fine, dude is meh... anyway, you need some patience with TPA, but it's coming along
So true. I still prefer Last Gladiators and Little Wings offerings but the nostalgia factor of TPA is hard to beat.
Wow, pretty much all tables have been updated and look amazing now and play better. I'm really, REALLY happy about last upgrade. And both new tables are a blast to play.
I love the app and have all the tables, but the only table I've had an issue with is Genie. It seems like the ball moves significantly slower than on the other tables. Can anyone with this table confirm this?
another reminder that the UI designers and engineers at FarSight really need to step it up. I mean seriously, is it really too much to ask for a "update all tables" button? Thanks for that tip, though!
no, they also changed color saturation, but it's actual pretty blueish/yellowish... take a look on a real one: http://bangback.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/tz_09.jpg but for most, physics and difficulty has beed adjusted (ie. jet bumpers barrier)... plays pretty good right now (and not too easy, at least for my limited skill set) of course some "ambient lightning" option would be nice later on... but ey, fix the bugs first! as for the "update all tables" option... i'm sure the're aware of that issue... they just need 3-4 month to implement it at the current "workload" (or should i say "bugload") man, that "obvious" scared stiff bug is still unfixed for months what really annoys me: why different POVs for every single table (even within a table pack)... is that some kind of "stance & growth simulation" or just a random thingy
Does anyone think they will ever release High Speed Pinball (1986)? This was one of my favorites growing up. It also helped bring pinball back after the 1983 crash. A true 80s icon. May not stand up to today's bells and whistles machines. But I thought it was a solid game. Anyone remember this one? Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but I think it would be great candidate for a release.
Welcome to TA! While I don't remember that specific table, FarSight seems to split their focus between the "bells and whistles" tables and the older tables with historical value, so it's not out of the question.
I literally just downloaded this app yesterday thanks to this forum. Didn't even know about it until now. So I figured I just post here first. I did register at the pinball arcade forum today also. So I'm getting there
Nice! Here's a quick summary of the machine I'm talking about. Gives me goosebumps just looking at it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Speed
High Speed would definitely be a welcome addition, and it's well loved enough that I'm sure it's in the queue. I'd like to see them bundle High Speed and The Getaway: High Speed 2.
High Speed was the first pinball table that I ever played regularly. It was extremely cool and at the time, very advanced. I am not a total pinball geek, so there are only a handful of tables I ever put any real effort/time into... here they are in order: 1. High Speed 2. Pinbot 3. The Addams Family 4. Star Trek: The Next Generation Of course there are many many more tables out there to love, but honestly, most of the ones I'm buying on TPA are new to me. I grew up in a small town, so part of it was access to the tables... I think I played Twilight Zone twice before TPA. I am still holding out some hope that The Addams Family will make it. I'm definitly willing to contribute to a kickstarter for that one! Here is a thread I started over on the TPA forums about Addams Family: http://pinballarcadefans.com/showthread.php/83
Genie is a very slow table in real life, which is why it is much slower than the newer solid state tables.
Yep. Older games move slower as they are set at a lower angle and have weaker kickers and such, but they also tend to be shorter games (shorter play time). So the simulation here is likely pretty accurate (but I've never played a real Genie before, though I've definitely played lots of games from this era and before).
