I think they'll be okay. In a month, they'll put out a new version and these tightwad curmudgeon reviews will get swept under the rug. You should all be sure to leave your 5 star reviews then.

Plus, the next update should replace Facebook nagging with Game Centre support, so you'll have a good reason to apply that rating. ;)

Creature from the Black Lagoon and Black Knight were announced as the next two tables. Woohoo.

I guess I'll be investing some more in this app. So far there's only two tables I haven't purchased. I'm an addict when it comes to pinball games.:)

I think part of the problem is that not everyone feels the same way about pinball.

I read a few pages back, and clearly the guys who are willing to pay the current prices for the tables are pinball fans. Some of you have even owned real pinball machines. You are hardcore.

That's the thing... the average iOS gamer may not see pinball sims as being that valuable. Maybe worth a dollar or two. No more.

That's where it's tricky for the devs. Keep prices high, and only the hardcore pinballers will buy it. But they also alienate the greater iOS audience. Lower the prices and maybe increase the audience, and make more money in the long run.

Me, I got this for free, and played the free table. It's cool. I would not pay the $15 or so to open all the other tables. At most, I'd pay $1 per table. And even then, I'd have to think twice. There are way too many good games for far less money on the app store.

Case in point -- yesterday I got Midway Arcade. I was very impressed with it. The emulation was great, and I liked how they designed the virtual arcade. So I ended up buying all the games. I only spent $3 and got all the arcade machines. Hard to justify $15 for Pinball Arcade in comparison.

Jeez, cmon dude if you think its too expensive then dont get it but when you say that at most would pay a buck for table and even then you dont know you're showing the precise reason that apps like these shouldnt be as dirt cheap as other apps, because people that like these kind of games will get them at this price.

Its silly to ask for everything to be a dollar, these are not fantasy pinball machines. Whether you consider yourself hardcore or not doesnt change the fact that these machines are based on real physical machines whose licenses cost money to get.

The simple fact is that lowering the price would probably hurt them, as is the case with most specialized "expensive" apps or games because the people whose directed at will buy it even if it costs more than a candy bar.

I did not say they SHOULD lower the table prices, I simply explained WHY I think the feedback has been so negative when the app went free.

Pinball fans may pay the current prices. The majority of iOS gamers probably will not. But there are way more iOS gamers than pinball fans.

    Question: Battle of the kingdom

I played the battle of the kingdom only two times until now
and i have a question about it. At the second time i played it,
i shot all six targets (catapult, left loop, left ramp, castle lock,
right ramp and right loop), after that the trolls came up so
that i can't hit the caste correctly and i lost the battle of the
kingdom. Is this normal? The instructions didn't tell anything
about shooting the trolls in the battle, only the six targets and
    than the castle.

    :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Creature from the black lagoon as the next table is cool,
the black knight i don't know until now, but i will buy and
    try it. :)

This is a guess... so if anyone knows the correct answer and this is not it, feel free to correct me:

Most of these tables can "stack" bonuses. So you could have multiple goals running at the same time. So I am guessing that you had the "Battle of the Kingdom" and "Shoot The Trolls" bonuses running concurrently, which in most cases would be a good thing, but since the Trolls were in the way, it turned out to be bad.

But its the usual problem with apps, some smaller devs might have higher prices and because the game isn't 99c which includes 48 tables etc, kids get annoyed and give it a low rating.

Again the app store has created a monster, people expect 99c or free games to include 1000's of levels (A post recently moaned that the game he bought had 'just' 60 levels for 99c !). I'm not a huge pinball fan, dont have any PC pinball games or that, but i think this ones quality and i want to support the dev by buying all his tables.

Did you say all tables were $15 ? I mean think about it, thats not much at all, i used to be used to buying X-Box/Wii games for $40 or more dollars EACH. Would get bored of them after a week or two. I think people havent a clue now about prices, they're 'shocked' when a games $1.99 or so as thats 'expensive' for the app store.

I must admit i'm happy as hell Facebook leaderboard will be gone from the app in the next update. I always played as 'guest'

Looking forward to more tables, deleted all my other pinball apps and just kept this one, really enjoy it.

No, not right. After nobody gave an answer i asked google for a solution.
Sometimes you have to search a little bit more intensive, but a least
    google knows everything.

    Look here:

    Medieval Madness / Rules

I can't kill the trolls by shooting them, because they are a guard for
then King of Payne, only trollbombs can kill them. To collect two troll-
bombs and safe them for the battle of the kingdom is very difficult,
because everytime you have trolls all trollbombs you have saved will
launch automaticly, what a pity !! I think this is another bug on MM,
because the real MM pinball machine does this not, i can decide to
launch a trollbomb or not. Maybe farsight can fix this, i know he reads
    here, thank you.

    @ DeanKeith:
Thanks for trying an answer, even when it was wrong. I think this is a big problem
of this thread/forum if you ask a question about a game that needs some
greater skills in a game nobody gives an answer, at the other side i read
statements like "Oh, this game is to easy". Just talking, less gambling !!
Instead of gambling the pinball machines here is a long talk about the
table prices, the ratings in appstore and things like that.

Maybe I´m not patient enough, but here is the same old question
"Where is the update?" Cant wait any longer for Gamecenter,Black Knight and Creature fro the Black Lagoon. On their page they are telling "soon".

Still think, they are doing a great job, but the tables are far to easy. This is no real simulation. The Pinball companies wouldn´t have earned enough money, if any child could have achieved incredible highscores, like they do in Pinball Arcade.
For me, an expirienced player, it´s no problem to play more than 30 minutes on my first go at most of the tables. Sometimes it get´s so boring, I close the game before I lost all my balls. Nice simulation of graphics and sounds, but so boring easy.

Delayed. I was hoping for a release on the 20th, like last month. Should be out at the end of next week.

I think for 'most' players theyre not super experts or that like yourself so i think theres a lot of casual users as well. I was never a pinball fan before this app arrived, i enjoy playing them but i dont have 2 or 3 hour sessions, like to have a go of one table now and then.

I'm sure experienced players of platform games or FPS games might think the same thing. If they ramped up the difficulty then people would moan so they cant win

lets not forget too that the tables in arcades were generally set up to "eat many quarters." They often weren't in peak working condition either...I can remember playing tons of tables with dead or sticky flippers and other issues that made playing them a real chore.

It's a fn IoS game, not real life. It's a GAME. You can't 1:1 physics in a limited fn processor dude. And get over it, if you find it too "easy" because you're a goddamn messiah of pinball then move on to something else. And shit happens, there's a lot worse crap going on in the world than a pinball game being delayed a week or so with new tables.

But to make the flipper fingers a little bit shorter, you dont need a new Processor. Thats what i am doing in Visual Pinball.
Because I am a messiah of pinball, I dont want to move to something else.
It's nice, to play Pinball everywhere with an ipad or iphone.
Of cause there's a lot worse crap happening in the world, but new tables make
    Life a little bit nicer.

That's why I still contend one of these pinball sims needs to step up and simulate the whole "poorly maintained" aspect!

My ideal would be something like a simple slider to determine the level of wear after which the game will randomly generate realistic conditions like worn spots on the table, sticking flippers, burnt out lights, weakened bumpers, etc. ;)

This is starting to sound like "what if codemasters made a pinball game"
