Yeah? Imagine it being twice as beautiful in full iPad retina Seriously though, this is the prettiest sprite-based game I own.
It's actually funny you posted this. I was just thinking that I should start letting people know what I'm playing each game on when I post... I started this one up on my iPad 1, and I LOVE it. DBC
Well, it is a little fuzzy and maybe technically airplay means wireless, but there is a classification of games called airplay compatible games which means that it supports tv widescreen. I suppose maybe proper term for it is tv out widescreen with a different image on ipad supported games, but most people seem to just say airplay games. Those airplay games play the same way on hdmi, vga,or rca out, so that is why I say hdmi airplay game, suppose technically maybe it should be written hdmi tv out widescreen with a different image on ipad, but to me, it is easier to just refer games in this way. Here is a good explanation of Airplay, Airplay supported games, and Mirroring. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/focus.php?subaction=showfull&id=1347605891 HDMI works in the same way as apple tv, just not wireless and with no lag. But with an awkward cable. Anyway, it might not be correct, and since this area is kind of a tech demo in a lot of ways, I think for myself, it is easiest to use the term airplay games, mirrored games, hdmi airplay games, and hdmi mirrored games. Probably not technically right, but the easiest and most concise. Here is a picture of Nova 3 in hdmi airplay, notice the ipad has dual screen capability, and the Gameloft wireless joystick at the bottom. I have noticed that airplay games seem like they run at a lower resolution (or maybe 720p instead of 1080p) than mirrored games, but they are widescreen which helps alot. If you have any further questions or comments, I am going to reprint this in the hdmi thread. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=173262&page=6
Cool game, one of the only 1080p airplay games on the market. You can use your iphone as a joystick too, highly recommended!
Yes, the girl's dig it. Here is a screenshot of the initial airplay setup, notice all the graphics modes. The highest is 1080p. Now isn't that intellectually stimulating and sexy? I'm famous! Signed, King Connector President of the HDMI Loverz Group
If you missed the previous sale, the game goes free again for this weekend, Mar 1 to Mar 3. If you play with AirPlay on a non 802.11n Wi-Fi or on a Wi-Fi with slow bandwidth due to the interference with neighbours, please, use 720p resolution. When connected with HDMI cable there will be more resolution options to choose. And use another iOS device, if you have one, as a wireless joystick Don't forget to change the TV image ratio options, so it won't cut the game video feed.
Wowzers, this is great info, thanks, included it the Hdmi thread at http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=173262&page=18 I really wonder if there will be more 1080p airplay supported in the future cause it must require some horsepower to play 3d games well in 1080p, doubt even an ipad 4 would run a 3d 1080p game well. I'm hoping by the time ipad 6 comes, that ipad games will be made as console games in mind too.
Thanks =) I hope there will be more games that will be specifically made to utilize TV Out and extra screen space on the device. At least we are going to release some more this year. Plain 1080p mirroring doesn't count, IMHO.
I know.. I was waiting for over a year myself.. Asked him not that long ago... it's a bummer, cause I really enjoyed it. So simple, but fun to play.
