Ok so I have a jailbroken iPhone 2G, and I just turned my phone off and now it won't turn back on. The apple logo appears for about 15 seconds and the phone just shuts off. Anybody know how to fix this without restoring?

Now don't take this personally or anything but, is it plugged in?

Yes I've tried re-jailbreaking, putting it into recovery mode then restarting, syncing it, nothing works

Have you tried recovering in DFU mode?

    Isn't recovery mode, DFU mode?

Nope. DFU = while plugged in, Hold both buttons for 15 seconds let go of power, hold home for 5 secs, your computer should recognize but ur phone screen is off

Same thing happened with my iPhone 2G too. Even restore didnt help fix the issue permanently and it was always getting this problem 4-5 days after the restore. Finally game up and restored it as a completely new iPhone loosing all my games save data. Its been over a month now without any need to restore.
