    Ho... ly... SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITAAAAAAAAWOWOW! =oD

Just wanted to stop in and say I LOVE THIS UPDATE!

The new ship = FRICK'N AWESOME!!!
    Coins+shop = hellz yeah!!!
---I know this will disappoint some, at first I was disappointed too... but after the initial IAP shock (which lasted about 5 seconds), I figured this would wind up pushing me to play the game more often, and having a couple decent runs could earn you enough coins to totally upgrade the hell outta your ship, and have one awesome run with your ship all pimped out.... I think it's a great thing... it hasn't changed the gameplay too much, but gives you that reward for fantastic playing, or playing often, by letting you totally kick some ass out there
    New backgrounds = beautiful!
Gradual turn into Focus Vision = fantastic, awesome idea here!
    Multiple device syncing = WOOHOO!!

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Thank you so so so much for all your hard work!!

I love how the Trinity gives you this backstage pass into the mayhem of Phoenix HD. It's immensely satisfying to play out an entire battle against a big hulking ship, whittling it down turret by turret in slow motion, watching the fire spread and finally beholding that beautiful explosion!

Can you tell us how much dps that teleport cannon (I like to call it the Teleport Slam) is dealing? It seems like a lot but doesn't look at damaging as that visually.

And another suggestion, can we get an option to teleport onto the cockpit rather than some distance below it? A lot of the time when facing a barrage of bullets I'm left trying to measure the exact position where my cockpit will be after the teleport. It would be much more helpful to teleport the ship such that the new position defines the position of the cockpit.

Woah, thanks for the elaborate, positive feedback guys and I'm glad to answer your questions.

The warp gun / teleport cannon / teleport slam does deal a lot of damage and I can tell you the exact amount:
When you teleport there is a very short period that you cannot shoot or teleport. This period, of 300ms, is a sort of cooldown, so you can't permanently warp around while shooting. We basically packed the dps that is lost during that period of time into a projectile. So the answer is, the warp gun is just as strong as your other weapons combined during the period they cannot shoot :)
This means that you cannot really raise your dps using a lot of teleports, however it does mean you can better focus your dps on a specific location using this weapon.
It also means that when you miss the warp shot, you lose some dps... but that makes sense, in my humble opinion ;)

Oh, that makes a lot of sense, and does not force me to use teleports needlessly. Another question, is there a disadvantage to overusing slow motion in terms of how many points and coins ships drop when in slow motion?

There is no disadvantage to using slow-motion, enjoy the show :)

New scoreboards are confusing. Why the reset? Why no way to just view lists anymore? What's with the new difficulty setting (just reset instead of lock anything from 1-5)? Sometimes I like to lock in just 3.

New visual enhancements are awesome. Im sad to see consumable IAP, but it's not terribly implemented, and if I can forgive anyone it's these guys, particularly considering the continuous support and enhancement they've given this game I've been playing for years (since the original Phoenix came out). I bought the new ship but haven't tried it yet. Looks sweet though.

The reset was necessary as the gameplay cannot be compared to previous versions. The difficulty progression for the turrets was completely revised and harder variants have been added. Thus, it will be harder to achieve higher scores than those previously set.

Displaying leadeboards on maps makes it much easier to enjoy them and gives competition a more clear context. Plus it is cool to see the players around you :)

We prefer to have the whole difficulty and progression system in the background. The locking of stars was previously intended as an extra layer on top of the automatic progression. However, over time it developed so that you needed to set the difficulty to your level to get the best experience. A lot of people didn't know or understand this so it remained on 1 star, not providing the proper challenge.

@Royce: very curious what you think a couple of weeks or so from now, we use all the feedback we can get to make the game better!

You really have to see those backgrounds in motion to appreciate their awesomeness.

Just tried the new ship and it's awesome. Like the Shogun it completely alters gameplay, so it's like a whole new game. It really slows the game down though, in multiple ways :D Besides the time slow, it just seems to take much longer to knock ships out. Still tons of fun and it allows one to appreciate the surrounding more. I also sometimes tend to move my finger just to readjust if I'm near the screen edge (with my finger) for instance, and that screws me up a bit with the new ship but I'm sure I'll adjust :p

Sorry to double post but I just read this post.
I do like the idea and I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I really like lists :p

Sounds reasonable. I just found setting it to 3 allowed me to play really long sessions when I was in the mood for it. I can still do basically the same thing by resetting it to 1 I guess.

A light reminder to everyone, please re-rate and update your reviews. Also, down-vote stupid reviews, such as the 1-star review stating you have to buy everything again.

Likely a case of me being blind here, but I do not see the armory anywhere.

The very screen after you select your ship, the game will give you an option of single use boosts. That's the 'armory'.

It didn't show up the first time I played (maybe because I had no coins yet?), but it appeared after that right after ship selection.

The Armory comes right after the Ship selection and is indeed hidden before your first playthrough :)

That makes sense. Only had time for one play through before having to leave. Will see it later. Thanks much.

Good goal to atleast make up coins you spent. I don't mind that at all.

I'm realizing I get the best return on investment from using just the coin doubler. It's cheap and it helps me get better without relying on the boosts and drones as crutches.

Just updated, and... Does anybody experience game crash, right after app launch? This makes me really upset, the more that the update seems so promising...
