Tried to buy Trinity, says can not connect to itunes store... Game seems faster, at least the bullets do. Playing on hardest difficulty, now seems like a bullet hell. Love how you got videos for the ships! That is hella cool!!!
Thanks guys that's great to hear! This can be caused by the roll out as the App Store always takes a while to get everything up and running in every location. What you can try, is going to the Settings App->Store->Sign Out. Then start Phoenix HD and try to purchase it, it will ask you to login.

Couldn't buy trinity, but then I went to the multitasking bar, closed out the program, and then I was able to buy it. The Trinity is awesome! And the game plays much more funner now, moves faster, and seem like there are more bullets. I like what I see so far, going to buy a drone soon to see what that is like.
Damn, my battery just died! El, I seriously think you might have made the Trinity TOO good! It's official. This is the greatest shooter ever. There will be much to talk about in this thread for a long time to come. This is a MAJOR change in the gameplay. Some of this will take time to get used to, especially the draw down of color with low health. Whew. Taking this all in.
Woohoo! Location based scoring! I got the #1 highest score in Los Angeles!!! Never been on top of a leaderboard or anything since I don't play games all that much, but I cracked up when it said my score was the highest in Los Angeles, I'm sure in a couple of minutes, I won't be though... Edit: actually my game says I have the #1 highest score in the world! Beat that! Haha
The drone is cool, totally not what I was expecting though. It doesn't stick with you, orbit you, or really follow you around. It's more like a pet dog, it kind of stays close, but not too close. Weird, but cool. Also the firing is a little strange, it has different styles of shots, the multiple laser one is totally cool. Anywayz, I gotta go to sleep. See ya all! Thanks, yes we did the Drones a bit different. We didn't want standard sideships as those are just basically 'extra weapons' with little extra flavor beyond the weapon they carry. Enjoy your positions on the Leaderboards while they last! Leaderboard access is completely free now, so they will grow much, much bigger than before.
I'm speechless. No, that's not accurate since I am flooding this thread But really, you guys have truly outdone yourselves here. It is 6am here in Pennsylvania and I am tempted to not sleep at all, that's how much fun I'm having with this. Phoenix HD up until this point will always have a special place in my heart. It was a beautiful era. The direction you guys are going in now though is the next level. No denying that. Congrats! Back with more feedback after I rest my eyelids.
How bout including a 'free play' mode that discounts all armory items to free, but with leaderboards disabled for those who just want to blow stuff up, continuously? I see IAP being a solution to my suggestion but it's not financially viable over the long term (I do play Phoenix, A LOT). *Edit: of course, coins shouldn't spawn in such a mode.
God, the Trinity is awesome. I got to the yellow background, which is a very nice change of tone as well. And I am loving the black&white thing when your health drops. The progressive dimming of the background, the feeling of doom creeping in, the hope for green to appear and the rush... ah, thank you Phoenix. I love the reseted leaderboard, much easier to get some achievements lol. Achieved #1 in rotterdam, but I won't top the guy in Den Haag i'm afraid.
Oh dear... the new content and reworked UI is amazing as expected but consumable iAP and coins in high score based game? I'm not sure how I feel about the update now, but I bought the Trinity.
Great to hear the positive responses guys. We are tending to the servers and seeing how everything holds up. After months of work this is the most stressful period for sure! @sapphire_neo: At Firi Games we are hardcore gamers ourselves, so we approached the IAP's with caution. Lots of tweaking and trying things. Keep it fair, keep it fun, keep it exciting, keep it competitive and keep it awesome. We're enjoying the gameplay a lot so I am confident that you will have a great time with Phoenix HD 2.0 as well. Maybe now in different ways or ways you wouldn't have expected
Okay, just to reiterate, the new content is not merely amazing but actually left me speechless on occasions. The new backgrounds are gorgeous and this is easily the best looking shmup on a mobile device by a HUGE margin. If consumable iAP is the price I have to pay for content of this class then so be it. And to be fair, the amount of coins you get for your cash is very generous at the 5.99 level and farming coins is vey easy. For a reasonably good run with the 2x coins modifier you can easily get 2.5-3k coins. But, I'm not going to lie, the consumable iAP will remain a huge disappointment for me for the simple reason that regardless of how you try to spin it, the game now has a pay to win factor. A decidedly small factor for people who are gunning for the really high scores like 25mil+ since they'll earn the coins they need for all the boosts anyway (which is 8,025 coins per run), but it remains a factor for people competing at a lower level. The location based leaderboards allow for that sort of competition and this is where boosts ruin the game some. tl;dr stunning update, iAP is not overly dramatic and is an understandable way to keep the bar of entry low for a game that should by all rights be priced in the premium segment along with the CAVE shmups. Suggestions, could we have an option to disable focus vision and could we have a "The Works" boost which contains all the other boosts but at a slightly discounted price?
