The Brute is awesome I love the new bullet pattern it brings. Yet to encounter the new Alpha Strike though... I love the "on fire" trail effect these shots use, I vote for more future shots to use this nice effect. I'm sure the iCade support is great, another excellent update guys You should add new backgrounds as vanity iAPs in the next update (or the one after). I would totally pay $1.99 or more for each new area. Edit: OMG the new Alpha Strike is gorgeous The shells look a little static moving up to the enemy ships but the electric effect makes up for that. Are you sure it's not a wee bit overpowered? It slices through the bigger ships with such ease... Also, I paid $10.99 for Dariusburst SP but Phoenix HD is still my favorite iOS shmup
Wow, the new enemy, and alpha strike look fantastic! Thanks again for yet another awesome update for one of the best shmups in the AppStore! Btw, that is a GREAT pic of the new alpha strike, sapphire, nice timing!
Not too great... The relative touch ratio seems different, not exactly 1:1... Something I'm gonna have to get use to with some more practice...
I have been enjoying bullet hells of late. Not too many though, I admit. Espgaluda and now Shogun to be precise. Phoenix is always fun for a quick play, but I have never really understood this game. It feels very repetitive. What exactly is the IAP for? Just new ships. IAPs for new "levels" like in Shogun seems more logical. I really want to enjoy this more, but there doesn't seem to much more than dodging to do. Am I missing something?
Its a straight up high score challenge. Bullet hell in it's pure form instead of the complicated depthy scoring systems of other bullet hell games... At first, I considered Phoenix a game perfect for practicing with... Getting reflexes more in tune to the genre... But it became so much more very quickly,... Yes, the IAPs are for other ships... But each ship has its own play style... Making it almost like having 4 games in one. It's now one of my favorite iOS games...
Each ship comes with its unique loadout which forces you to play the game very differently, in essence it feels like 4 different modes, if not entire games. I think the Shogun ship pretty much creates a new game. The game itself is straight up endurance in a bullet-hell environment. It's a test of your ability to maintain concentration during runs that can last up to 20 minutes.
Another awesome update as usual. =D Ran across the new bullet pattern and its a nice addition to the rest of the patterns. I think I see the same thing as Madbrainz though...I thought I was seeing not as sharp graphics..but I thought it was just me. But I can't tell if its how it always was or just me... I'm on the 4th gen ipod touch. Anyone else notice the same?
just checked it out on my 4th gen... and it looks just like it always did, IMO... could be wrong though, because I've been playing on my iPad 2, and compared to that... well... =oP As for the review Madbrainz gave... I'm pretty surprised... He seems like a cool guy judging from posts in the Bullet Hell Fanatics group... anyway... yup... down rating his review... =o/
Haha..probably just my eyes.. Playing too much of another game lately that its probably messing with my eyes. =P lol
That new ship looks sort of like a top view of Sanctuary II. It's free with one ship. There are 4 iaps (in app purchases). 1. Leaderboards 2. Corsair 3. Mirage 4. Shogun The Phoenix is free. Each iap is $1. All 4 are $4. Agreat deal afaiconcerned and support for devs producing such great games.
