yeeep 1. no easy way to search, sorry. 2. s4 is the highest it goes i think, but it's beyond me how you even beat s3. 3. reflex emp supposedly has a cooldown time before it gets quick activation again. so just use it very sparingly i guess.
We're working on making the subreddit better, specifically to make searching for that kind of info easier.
2) Fun fact: SSS is sort of like an easy SSSS level... you should see the hard ones. 3) Like I said before, once you get used to the Reflex EMP, it becomes very good. once you get a feel for about how long it takes for the cooldown to reset, it becomes pretty second nature... sort of like how if you use mega laser enough you can fire it off the moment the sound tells you its charged.
Thanks, finding inspiration can be tricky sometimes, but other times I'm writing down notes for multiple weapons or abilities at the same time. Sometimes my initial ideas result in something totally different though. The Sonah for example. It has these huge pods that are angled inward slightly. My initial plan was to make this the first ship with limited range weapons, namely two big flame throwers that would converge at a certain point. When I was finally working on it though, I got the idea of detaching the pods and making them actually rotate towards the target and fire a massive barrage of missiles. So I picked this visual style over the flame-thrower idea even before actually working on the flame-thrower damage balancing, which would have been quite a challenge on itself. I might re-visit that idea some day though. 1. No easy way. For static info we want to start using reddit. The subreddit mod seems to have departed though so I am hoping some high Karma players can help out to add themselves as moderators. I am personally not an active user of reddit yet. 2. S4, not infinite. Getting there is quite an achievement though, good job. 3. At rank 5 it takes 0.6 seconds to trigger the Reflex EMP. Each subsequent trigger adds a couple of seconds to the trigger time. This increased trigger time slowely restores while you are not using it. All of the timings improve when upgrading the Reflex EMP. We are planning to expose all of these stats in the game in a future update and indicate what goes up or down with each upgrade.
I have upgraded all of the ships, as for another tier list, I haven't entertained the idea for some time as there have planned to be monthly updates which could lead to a lot of adjustments each time. There are things I already think are wrong with the last list I made. Personal opinions of the new ships even though I haven't used them much yet: Orion: Not too shabby, falls into the same feel as other point defense ships like Vuxine and Yoth-Hola. Exarch: IMO a candidate for 2nd best offense ship under EX0. Njorun: Unfortunately I really do not like this ship's weapons kit. It doesn't seem very strong and it's kit is strange. Boxer: It's single shot is pretty damn strong, but unfortunately it is very slow rate and might take too long to destroy waves despite having two strong defensive abilities. Sonah: Pretty satisfying to play with, seems like an above average ship, makes Jericho look like a ship for sissy boys.
Thank you! Always interesting to hear your thoughts I only have boxer and about 22 ships in total.. but it seems like none of the new 5 ships are in "S-tier" .. So I may just have to save up my money to check out the ships in Aprils update
Agreed, always nice to read There won't be new ships in the April update. We will add more ships of course, they will arrive in a later update.
What's in the april update? I was surprised there was 5 ships in march update... was only expecting 3! So good job !
Point Defense vs Bullet EMP So I was just messing around with the Zephyr and I was pleasantly surprised by how well Point Defense works, once the screen starts filling with bullets it's great to fire it in short bursts to give yourself breathing room. What are your opinions of point defense vs bullet EMP? Seems to me like Point Defense is more versatile because it allows you to control how much aura you use, compared to bullet EMP which has more coverage (including 90% of the screen when fully upgraded) but uses all your energy at once. I personally like both but each works better on some ships than others.
Point Defense is really good now that it doesn't restrain your shot while in use. The only weakness of point defense is obviously the need to level it up, and even then a tight cluster of bullets may prove too much for point defense to save you from them. Efficient, but not instant if you're in danger through multiple bullets grazing you already. Bullet EMP I find is also really easy to build, and is absolutely guaranteed to save you from a bullet once activated, which lends itself to being a one time use. It also clears enough space to charge a mega laser or mega bomb more often than not. More reliable, less spammable. I find them both to be really good, it seems more people prefer Bullet EMP though.
I dont like either point defense of bullet emp as they dont protect from lasers? I only die from lasers... Also the red blinking for the special deal doesnt seem to go away.. good special though 20 k credit offer
I have been playing a lot the last few days. I figured I wanted to finish unlocking and upgrading all of the new ships. I tell ya I'm really liking the Yigothu. It's actually a pretty fun ship to use. It's main weapon is not the fastest killer but it's pretty visually appealing and the ship has some nice defenses for players who might not have the best skills or are looking for a more casual play through. Billy
woops i didn't realize that krillou already has the loadout i was looking for but uh what are your thoughts on my suggestion for a new time ability? i really think the only ship that benefits from chronofield is yigothu
I made a post on the subreddit that I feel may be an interesting peek for some: https://www.reddit.com/r/Phoenix_2/comments/6574gy/weapon_types_attributes_test_times/?st=J1GQJY4E&sh=f4d92598
The very first 3 star ship I've gotten out of warp gate is Aurora, then Yoth-Hola the next day. A little later I got Sakura and Baqlor back to back. I had them all bought beforehand, but it was cool to finally see them coming out of the warp gate.
and i just opened up the warp gate and got the Aurora... it was the first ship I ever bought. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooo
