Actually, I really want to play Amalgam but I can't even unlock 50% of the campaign. Maybe you could put a cheat in or something to unlock the extra game modes, I dunno. I know it's sad, but I honestly just want to be able to play all the different modes.
This is why I'm a big fan of difficulty levels. At say, three difficulties, the casual gamers, ordinary gamers, and hardcore gamers can all have their own little separate scoreboards and medals.
but then the beginners would be getting the same ships for less work. i'll be honest here. when i first started playing, i wished the medals would be at lower scores. if they were though, i'm sure i wouldnt have tried so hard to get them and i would stopped playing much earlier on.
Yes and no. Sure they might earn the ships easier playing it on Easy but, ideally, they would only have this ship while playing on Easy Mode. Each difficulty can be its own world of unlocks and progress so you would never see that guy's INSANE Easy score on your Hard level scoreboard nor would he be able to use any of the extra ships on Hard unless he unlocked them on Hard as well.
I actually like the medal scores the way they are now. I'm normally right around silver range (slightly below, slightly above depending on the game) but I know that if/when I actually do earn a gold, it's actually an accomplishment. The only thing that I wish PewPew 2 would have that it doesn't is different guns/firing modes. That's one thing that I really like about Isotope, the guns are different but useful.
On the topic of medals... I have a couple silvers and 4 or 5 bronzes; for the life of me, I can't even get past 6000 pts on Assault (bronze medal is 9000, I think). Anyone have any tips (looking in your general direction, Jak56)?
try to aim to shoot the helicopters. also, it's important to get the gun upgrades if you plan on surviving. about assault, just try to stay in the middle of the screen except when you see powerups, in which case you try to get them (prioritise getting shields since they disappear faster. when the enmies start to come a bit faster and in larger quantities, i tend to stop getting the powerups unless theyre pretty near)
I did just manage to unlock Amalgam, I had to just give up on beating a couple of stages, but managed to clear enough levels in the alternate paths. I get really stubborn about not moving on to another level until I beat the one before it, but I just cannot beat "Ying." I must have played the level about 30 times. Anyway, Amalgam is great. I think I will probably spend the majority of the time I play this game using that mode alone. Nice to have the other stuff though to keep things fresh.
Basically, it happens when the score table of the game mode is filled. I submitted an update more than a week ago that corrects this (worry not, it will not erase any score). It should have been accepted by now... Maybe it's taking more time because they have to test it on the iPad?
I took a break from Megagore/Assault/Amalgan today to play Highway for a bit...and damn it's frustrating! The little target has a mind of its own and constantly dodges me whnever I get close, and later on it blends in with the enemies on screen. I constantly get to 2800 or so before dying...anyone good at this mode? I'm decent at "Dodge This!" but Highway is just so frustrating...
If u tell them it's a bug fix, they'll release it FAST!! PG got an update at 5, then at 9 there was a dlc bug fix ALREADY approved! If u tell apple then they can speed it up!
Actually, the update is in the process of being approved right now, it's just taking ridiculously long to be approved. It should (unless there's some kind of problem that prevents Apple from publishing the update) be out within the next week, hopefully within the next couple days. This was typed on iPad, btw. xD
Unfortunately I just got a rejection email explaining the game has to auto-rotate when used on an iPad. Erg. A million apologizes, it's going to take an other week...
