David: thanks for taking the time to respond. A flip screen would definitely be an improvement, indeed this needs to be standard for all iPad apps. If you threw in an optional dpad control and allowed us to play our own music, it would make this game much more enjoyable overall.

And really, I think the AI needs to be stepped up. I realize everyone here seems to think the AI is brilliant, but the enemies are way too easy to ignore even without going stealth. I know part of the game is not to be detected, but the guards almost seem superfluous to me as they are. Optional difficulty levels could improve this aspect of the game.

BTW, I didn't join this forum just to criticize your game, just posting my honest reaction to an app I paid a relative premium for. I really want to like the game, the premise is great, and I bought it intending to like it, hopefully with some updates it will grow on me more.

    Have a good holiday.

This game needs to landscape mode with the headphones jack in the top right corner so you can play with headphones plugged in. Can't believe thats not a standard by now.

Please please please don't do D-pad, it would imo ruin the essence of the game which is a great use of the touchscreen. Also once you do decide to add more levels, would you consider expanding the story rather than just tacking on new rooms? It would make it a much deeper experience.

I am truly impressed by the organic feeling of this little alien cell. And I like the nostalgic feeling this game delivers. To me it feels like going back to the original Metal Gear Solid. And on iPad it looks great. Universal app wohoo.

I am not missing a dpad and feel it would take something away from the organic feeling, but as an option I think it would be great, I like having the choice. Some midpoint savepoints would be nice as well, though this way it is keeping with the oldschool MGS-feeling. :D

Overall great game, and together with World of Goo my iPad is really happy.

its because the iphone and the ipod have the headphone socket at opposite corners, thats why this is continually a problem.

And also more to the point why a flip screen is an essential to every ios game

Thanks for your comments, we will add the flip screen option asap. We worked a lot on the sound and the general atmosphere, but we will try to let you hear you own music. For the dpad, we will not add that, it would be a terrible mistake. For example with the split and the multitouch screen you can really play with the guards, one cell can attract a guard in a room while another cell close the door or dash him from behind.

By the way, we will give away 3 codes here in 5 minutes: http://twitter.com/mobigame

I know I shouldn't post any more in this thread, but I just have to comment on this since it was after unlocking this "feature" that I was able to hit "delete" on this game with confidence. How on earth is it a good idea to introduce into an already too easy game, a mechanic which basically now makes the game play itself? I know it looks cool and all, but was the effect on gameplay balance ever even a consideration?

    Dear Mobigame,

I just wanted to say how impressed I am by this game. The atmosphere, sound effects, and gameplay are top-notch. However, I have a hard time controlling the lifeform. I find my fingers getting in the way and obscuring the screen. I just wanted to ask if there will be alternative control methods in future updates? Thank you for your time.

Let me guess, probably because you did not go far enough to meet the armored soldier, or because you did not try to get the no kill bonus, or because you did not beat the last levels, especially the laser cavern. I don't know, was beating a game to review it ever even a consideration as you say? If you don't like it, you don't like it, don't worry we have no problem with that. However I think you should try to beat Perfect Cell otherwise your comment is not objective.

    thanks!

may I ask you if you are right or left handed? I believe it is easier to play with the right hand in most levels, but I am left handed myself. You can try to play with 2 thumbs too. For now we love the control, just touch the screen and the cell will move to the target, I fail to see how you can obscure the screen. Some people try to grab the cell to move it but you don't have to. Also it is the best control to move 3 cells at the same time.
