Wait 'til you progress. Depending on how you're playing (kill everything or avoid everything) you'll start hitting much harder levels. A and B levels are quite easy, C is a little more challenging. D and E start to really test your mettle.
Thanks for your ideas Borgqueenx. A Levels is the tutorial... I don't want to spoil, play the game and it should answer to some of your points
Another thread in the toucharcade, provokes a purchase. Extremely happy with this one, love the manga look; can't believe I haven't heard of it before today. Absolutely loving it though.
Just finished the game on my first run, without killing anyone. AWESOME game, perfect controls and pacing, really liked graphics and sounds. I feel guilty because it was on my wishlist but it came out unexpectedly when I already bought other games I wanted to finish before buying and...I won it via Twitter. I'm about to gift the game to a friend of mine to compensate Since I downloaded it I couldn't play any other game I already had. The closest game I can think of is Eric Chani's Another World (one of my all time favorite games). The only thing I would add is a bit more of 'story': 1)Why the guards? (in the only cutscene they kill some scientists) 2)What's the pourpose of the prisms? I got them all but I do not know what's their meaning in the gameworld. 3)I got the 'save 3 cells' achievement but not the 'save one cell' one...???? What am I missing? Ending is AWESOME btw...the whole game reminded me Sphere (one of my favorite book). I'm speechless...now I'll retry the game killing everyone but I think it's MUCH easier so...if you're searching for adrenaline and atmosphere, play it without killing. Thanks Mobigame!!!
A little warning to everyone if interested. I'm replaying the game killing people, and I'm literally cruising the levels...it's way too easy. So, aside from my personal preferred 'pacifist' Cell approach, I think the game is much more challenging and satisfying played trying not to kill anybody. I would dare to say that the pacifist route is how the game should be ment to be played (it's much more 'realistic' doing so, you won't notice people not recting in the background) but I understand they added the killing possibility to ease up some levels (and because it's fun).
In case you have not noticed, the stars are in-line again (some how), Pocket Gamer gives this a Silver award: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Various/Perfect+Cell/review.asp?c=26594&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+PocketGamerLatestAdditionsiphone+(Pocket+Gamer+-+Latest+additions+(iPhone))
Silver award? cool! thanks PocketGamer! @Pitta The soldiers take control of the base after scientists' faillure, but we prefer to keep some mystery. The prisms have no special meaning, it is just an achievement. It's weird that you did not get the "My other me" achievement... I will look into this. Of course the game is easier the second time you play it, but even if you kill everyone some levels are really hard, because you cannot kill the armored soldiers and the lasers are the same. How many times did you die on level E7 Anyway, you are right, it's more satisfying to be pacific
Ok, so this is a good game, for sure. The only thing that bothers me is one little thing: IS CENSORED!!! Theres no blood or body parts at all. It really break it in half for me. Is this happening to anybody else??? I live in SPAIN, EUROPE If MobiGames is reading, are you going to fix this? it is no fun, no fun at all
Thank you for the reply and above all the awesome game. I confirm the achievement discrepancy, if it is of any help you can check my GameCenter account (Pitta). It's probably just a matter of personal preference, but even if it is lots of fun playing taking the killing route, I liked more the 'pacifist' route that as a side effect lend even to a more 'realistic environment'. I mean, in the general realism of the game, killing people let me notice more that backgrounds are...just backgrounds (ie: people not reacting) while playing stealthy let you notice it much less or never. The game is imho SO MUCH IMMERSIVE AND REALIST that this should be taken in account, because it's more than a generalist 'fun to play game'...it's more like an adventure (as opposed to, let's say, Edge, which was a more abstract theme). I love that you kept the whole story a mystery, but I really want to find out what the prisms are for ....so I'm really hoping for you extending the game with more bits of the story and obviously the already excellent gameplay. Cant' really wait to play more!!! I would say that Perfect Cell is the modern heir to Eric Chani Another World (Out of this World), which hold a special place in my not so young heart.
@mfros it's not censored... See the first screenshot here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/perfect-cell/id390238229?mt=8 you see the blood right? It's in level A4, it must be the same on your version (I assume you have Perfect Cell 1.0.5, you can see it in options/credits).
It depends on which mode you're playing. This game is rife with blood and gore and body parts flailing around...! If you're playing in a mode where you're killing not anyone, that would explain it. This is the mode I'm playing on my second go-round after having finished all the levels taking out everyone.
Finally give in and hit the buy button. I just hope i don't wake up tomorrow to see a 99cc sale. It happens a lot to me lately.
Welcome to the club, kapatid. This is one of the better games I've ever bought (I've bought/downloaded about 700 since March).
@MobiGames Ok, i only got to level b-2 and i didnt see any mutilations and gore going on so i stopped playing and blamed censoring, but knowing this i will keep playing this. By the way, i love EDGE

Still on the fence about picking this up now. Is it really going back to $5.99 soon, I was thinking $4.99 would be permanent. Now, $2 off would probably have swayed me sooner. I have a rather large backlog that I am now starting on, so getting this soon really isn't a priority, but sales can sometimes swing me. What types of updates are planned?
On Monday Truckers Delight will be back to $0,99 and Edge will back to $2,99, but Perfect Cell will stay at $4,99. It's a AAA game and it is already a very fair price. We are still working on the next update, which will include: - flip screen option - ipod music - slight changes in some levels and better tutorials on "A" levels - minor bug fix
