Well, I think the video say it all, no d-pad, no button, no sensitivity issue...I am sold (pretty much).
The controls work great. It's a tap-and-lead control system; just tap where you want the cell to go and it'll head toward your finger. Even when you split into two or three cells (once you get that ability) the nearest cell will move toward your finger. It's quite intuitive and works very well.
I just got it for $4.99 I dont think it's worth it. The controls dont work very well and I find it to be more frustrating that fun. That said if you're a MGS fan you might like it. oh well I just bought a ton of games and a little disappointed because other less expensive games that are more fun.
Good game. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'd say it's worth the 5.99 I paid for it (sale came the day after I bought ) I like the controls. Easy, intuitive, no clunky dpad. I hope they add controls like Edge's or Spirits, sometimes my finger covers up the cell. Plus, it's something new! Don't have very many stealth games on my ipod.
Although the controls aren't horrible, this is a game where I would at least like to have tried accelemeter controls. The swiping isn't always precise enough.
I really like the controls, I don't see how they could have implemented better ones, I just don't think a d-pad/joystick would work well with this game.
Actually the d-pad does exist but it's invisible and fills the entire screen which makes it hard to control.
I believe he is making a joke. A joke which actually makes sense because you touch in the direction you want to go, so it's like a dpad where if you want to go left, you tap on the left button, which in this case would be the left side of the screen.
Yeah I understand that. But he said "The controls could be much better if it registered the dpad wherever you touch on the screen", which makes zero sense if that's exactly what it does.
it's very simple instead of a giant dpad that fills the screen it would be better to have one that centers wherever you put your finger down. I usually dont like virtual controls at all so I'm not sure why I bought this. I guess I figured it was mobigame so they should be able to come up with something pretty slick. But it feels cumbersome especially compared to Edge.
Oooh I see what you mean. Yeah, I actually agree. But I like to look at like 'relative controls' (or something) rather than a dpad. You are talking about controls like Spirit's, right? Unless you're talking about a floating dpad, which is honestly the worst thing ever.
About the control, as Mindfield said, just tap where you want the cell to go and it'll move toward your finger. That means that you don't hide the cell with your finger while you are moving it, it's very precise, and it works great with 3 cells on the screen. We don't see how a dpad could do the job better, it is like if you were asking for a mechanical dpad on the iPhone to navigate through the menus like on the old phones, or a dpad to play Kinnect games. As we see it, it's an iOS game, with innovative controls made for a multitouch screen that work really great. But maybe we miss something... We are working on the next update, if you have some requests about the control try to be more explicit For example, make a difference between the basic move, the dash and the draw dash. We might add an option to double tap to dash instead of swiping if that's a problem for some of you. But I remind you that you can swipe anywhere in the screen to dash, so it should not be a problem in fact.
