Does this annoy anyone else?? i mean it seriously bugs me, "PM me a promo for a review of ur game" i mean really? is it so hard to just buy the game and support the dev instead of finding a loophole in the "no begging for promos" rule?
it doesnt bother me that they put "PM me, review for a promo code" in their sig, but it would be nice if they had to say where the review would be posted. If they posted it in TouchArcade or the store, it would be fine, but if they plan on posting the review on their own website then it appears like they are using this website to promote their own. Whatever, but it would be nice if they at least put down where they plan on posting the review in the sig too.
Who cares, developers can give out their 50 promo codes in any way they want... If that means giving them away to lurkers, PM'ing them to people with requests in their sigs, or just printing them all out on a piece of paper and setting it on fire.
I was just thinking this the other day. It's like a phony, sneaky way of begging devs for promo codes. Yes, there are exceptions (eg. review sites with a lot of traffic), but I get the feeling that most of these people with sigs like that are offering to post a review on TA, iTunes, or even worse, their own website or blog, which IMO is pointless. There are plenty of people who are willing to buy these games/apps and often have no problem leaving a review on TA, iTunes, etc. Honestly, unless you actually work for TA, STP, Pocket Gamer, or any other site with high traffic, your review isn't really doing the devs any good. You want to help out devs? Try paying for their games. Just a polite way of begging as far as i'm concerned.
yeah this NoDpad looks like a nice site, I just checked it out for the first time. But Kunning you should leave your reviews on this site too.
no not like u, ur reviews are being left somewhere where they can actually be seen and do some good. im talking about mems who arent well-known, and their "reviews" will prob only be put in itunes. and more than likely, their review is sub-par
