Well I really enjoyed roundguard and I wasn’t happy when it came off Arcade and I’m quite enjoying this off of one go but I’m not loving it. I suspect I haven’t quite got to grips with the battle mechanic maybe.
Man, I was rolling with a tight bomb multiplier build that was knocking everything flat. Made it to world three for the first time, blazed through the floors, and then the cave monster boss trounced me in no time. Oh well, I be back. This game is great. Easily my favorite new AppStore purchase in months if not years. Though I agree, it really needs stat tracking, end game metrics, and a wall of fame/high scores list. Anybody unlock the new classes? Wonder it requires beating a certain boss or clearing the game with Peglin or what. Also, in the first world, the slime boss is way harder to optimize and prepare for than the mole. Tanking the mole is a breeze.
Keep getting trounced on stage 3. Gotten pretty close though to beating it. Still no unlockable characters for me yet either. I agree with earlier statements that some kind of run summary would be cool after you lose
This game has had what, four updates in a few days? Insane level of support. And then something like the new Worms game has graphics issues that haven’t been addressed in two weeks! Glad I chose to spend my money on wonderful, extremely well supported indy games like this and Pocket City 2 instead!
Me too, man. Me too. Both the crystal monster and the dragon have kicked my ass even with builds doing regularly north of 1000 points per shot. Still can’t put it down, though. I’ll get there soon!
Woot, I went with a Bulwark build and scored the artifact that gives every peg 3 durability. Beating the third stage unlocked a Cruciball on the game start screen, which seems to be some kind of gameplay penalty with a progress tracker and levels (currently 1)? I don’t know what happens when the tracker is filled. Nothing otherwise unlocked yet.
First of all i need to say the game is really fun. Easy to learn and hard to master. And it will give the ‚one more game‘ feeling after every run. But after playing for a longer time i‘ve got some problems. Many orbs are really bad. It feels a bit like the devs did throw in some orbs just to fill the pot without thinking about synergies and effects. So in the end there are about 6-8 orbs that will help you in the long run, because only orbs that hit more than one enemy are good mixed with some other S-Tier orbs. It’s also mostly about having luck with getting the right relics to get till the endboss and never about skill. And I‘m a bit disappointed with the progress after winning. So far i have won two times. After my first win it unlocked an Orbageddon on my game start screen. But it was an underwhelming surprise to find out it’s just a penalty that makes the game harder. But after my second win (against the huge fire dragon) i was really disappointed, because absolutely nothing was unlocked or has changed. I doubt i will play this mich longer. The game could have been the ‚binding of issac’ of all pachinko roguelikes with crazy unlocks and synergies. But so far it doesn‘t reach it‘s full potential.
So the game is fun. It’s a great peggle variant. I am still enjoying it and playing a bunch. I have yet to beat the final boss. Got to him twice. Should have beat him the second time but only had 30 health when I got there. Almost got him down as I was very powerful. My hits were over 1000. My issue with the game is there is no reason to come back. It just feels like it’s missing something. No unlocks that are there for you to go after. Not even a compendium of balls or relics. If it just had that and showed what you found and shadows of others you haven’t encountered that would help immensely. Also zero end game stats makes a game ending feel very bland. Like you just had your best run for nothing. It’s really missing those small easy changes to make It great and have a larger reason to come back. I would also like to know something about the new characters they made a deal about releasing. Anyways it’s still fun and I will for sure keep playing. But I can’t help to feel like it’s missing something. I think the biggest issue is a compendium and no end game anything. I so wish we had OG peggle premium on iOS.
While both are very Pachinko based, Peglin loses the ability to cast spells mid drop, and instead, the balls are the spells themselves making this game more like a deckbuilder. The baddies are not in the playfield, but instead are shown above the playfield marching toward the player in single file. When you launch the ball, each peg hit on the way down adds to this turn's attack damage applied to the first enemy encountered in line (furthest left). Each type of ball has its own damage rating, level of bounce, and other unique characteristics with the most powerful balls either being very expensive (you can add to your pack in between each level with your winnings) or having some inherent disadvantages to balance things out.
Finally beat the game!!! Was an amazingly cool bomb build! But my last hit on the boss was over 3k damage after bouncing forever! Got a screen cap at 2700 damage but it kept going lol! You do unlock Cruciball mode which is like a new game with negative modifiers. There are multiple levels of Cruciball mode that unlock after beating the game again. Fun, interactive game. The level designs are great with the moving parts and pieces. Look forward to more additions to the game.
Great Job. I just missed a defeat myself. I also was also have massive attack damage. But I had three level three swoltorb (the one that makes each point worth more and more). Was hitting well over 3K. Don’t remember seeing a cap though. I lost when the boss had 23 health left lol. still loving this game. But hate that every game ends so bland. And without a compendium it so hard to know what’s out there. Also for anyone still wondering amour Roundguard vs this. Still think they are quite different. I beat Roundguard on my second and third play through. Then this came out and I just can’t go back to Roundguard. Still different and still fun. But this is way more for me. This is the “Slay the Spire” of peggle!
I'am cruciball 2, and if you look at my screenshot, there are in the update (5 days ago v 0.9.0a) 2 new class, after have beating the game twice, i cannot see the new class... very mysterious
If you get 100 armor in a battle you will unlock the Ballidin. If you stack 50 poison on one enemy you unlock the other character, sorry, I forgot the name. Hope this helps.
So I just had an insane run. Balls were getting between 4k-6k damage at times. Finally beat a boss. The dragon. Unlocking custom mode actually solved my biggest issue with the game. Custom mode gives you a glossary of all items in the game. Shows you everything you have encountered or used so far. There is still a lot to see/ use which is very cool. Check out the damage in this pic! And look at those relics!
Well still playing and loving the different synergies you can try. Beat the game a couple more time. I absolutely destroyed the four square bosses. The game really does have a lot of strategy. You can play so many different ways. I also did this!!! Check picture. (I cut out the rest of the pic so that it won’t leave any spoilers of how to achieve the character. If you want any help you can let me know.) Pretty sure I will be able to unlock the next one as well. I have a good idea of what would work to get it done.
