PopCap made a genius move with including the Peggle demo in the Orange Box. I'm the same way, when I looked at screenshots of the game originally I was like "Wow that looks dumb as hell." But, it was sitting in my Steam, and I was waiting for a patch to download for Counter-Strike or something and figured what the hell. Fired up Peggle, bought it ten minutes later, and since then I've owned it on every platform it's been released on. The word of mouth they seeded with the Orange Box demo is priceless.
I finished the adventure mode and now I am doing the challenge mode. Fantastic game. Future updates should be very cool.
Any tips for Peggle newbies? Say: What is strategy on aim and time? How important is "style point"? How to make the most out of the multiplier?
That would be great, although perhaps what I'd like to see more is Plants vs. Zombies. I'm hoping we'll see the day when PopCap adds the iPod Touch/iPhone to the list of simultaneous release platforms for their new games, rather then being relegated to a port-later-on platform.
I agree. It's been a year and Popcap just released their 3rd title (compared to EA, Gameloft and Freeverse - to name a few) The crazy thing is, Popcap games are some of the most succesful in the appstore...period. You would think they would want to crank them out. I would love to see : Peggle Nights Plants vs. Zombies Bejewelled Twist Zuma Bookworm Adventures
I second the above post. Come on. plantsvszombies has idevice written all over it. Would be really fun!
i finally gave in after watching numebrs of reviews and honestly very well polish game of chance i love the powerups and my favourite part is hitting the last orange peg; the music is too funny!! and ur always back to the same stage for higher school very fun game of chance!
Ah, you haven't played long enough yet. Yes, there is plenty of chance, but there is plenty of strategy as well. That's what's so great about Peggle.
Yes, having played it for much of this week (I never played it prior to getting the app) I can say there is much strategy involved. Some of it is chance, but it's about maximizing the potential to be successful on each shot.
For those that say this game is luck/chance, no strategy involved....... Post your scores from any map and let's match score, I guarantee if your playing for just luck then you will have a low, low score.... Play with some skill, as in try and hit your first shot onto a pink peg for a score boost, try and time your shots to make it into the bucket... If you can't do that then you don't have skill and this is a game of chance for you, but on average you should either be able to clear a map 100% of ALL pegs, or at least finish with at least 2-3 spare balls.... JMO
Strategy is involved, but there is a good mix of chance too. Most of the time, I have a few balls left and/or clear 85% or more of my pegs. It's all about angles and anticipated the bounce. But, there is always an element of chance when you're bouncing balls off of numerous pegs.
I love Peggle on the iphone, now i can finally play peggle will I'm sitting on the pot. We can only hope they bring plants vs. zombies to iphone!
