LOVE IT LOVE IT! Especially the part when you hit the last orange dot. It plays the glorious music thinggy with fireworks and crap. Really trippy. Na na nanana na na nanana na na naa
haha, I love Beethoven's glorious 9th music thinggy too (didn't spot any crap though. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough)
All versions of peggle (except the iPhone/touch version) have music playing all the time. Catchy tunes... The game is just not the same without.
That's the part I hate I like the slow motion trippy thing, just not the classical piece. I like the regular music during gameplay though....in fact I like everything else about the game from the demo that I'm playing.
Maybe it's because I'm a desktop Peggle addict, but something about this port isn't quite there. I think the overall fluidity of the mouse control is something that's absent in the iPhone version. Now why am I saying this? It's a well designed game for sure, but when you're used to the full experience that the mouse provides it's just not the same. I will give it a good review nonetheless, as it's price point is insane and well it's Peggle, but I still have that concession. Anyway I'll expand on that viewpoint when I post the review up sometime this week. For now, should you buy it? Yes. It's Peggle, for 5 bucks. It's the cheapest way to get the game on any platform, and it's still as good as ever. --- Now if Zuma was ported over it wouldn't have this problem, the mouse just doesn't fit as well as touch controls would.
Ok, so I just played through the whole adventure mode. Simply awesome. I've come to the decision that I'm going to wait till the update, so I can have the background music and then I'll finish the Challenges. I don't know if I'll be able to hold out that long but we'll see! But all in all, this game is marvelous and even without the music it's amazing.
In terms of value and over quality and polish this game is a no-brainer... You got all 50 stages then you got the 40 different challenges plus duels which u can randomize and pick all the different characters which changes up / lengthens the game play even more... Should be #1 soon...
Ok, I take back what I said about not missing the music (that is, *my* not missing the music). After I wrote that comment I later played more, and then, yep, I sure noticed the lack of it. Funny how that works - when I hadn't realized it was missing it didn't bother me, but then once I'd read that it was missing, it did bother me. Oh well. And of course when I played the Mac version just now, there was the music. I have to presume it is just a temporary shortcoming that will be addressed in an update. I certainly hope so!
you have 50 stages, + 40 challenges, duel, but you have too the quickplay, that you have to get 2 trophies on each of the 50 stages (100% clear and ace trophee(not sure about ace trophy, but in peggle night it was there)) only thing: not perfectly fluid and when you zoom-in the image quality is not really good and sometime it has a little lags. Hope there will be updates to fix this but it totally worth the 5$
sorry if this was already posted but i didnt want to go through 26 pages of posts....when is the update with music supposed to be out? Is it a definite that it IS coming? Anything else included in the update? I'm loving the game! thanks
As with the government, Popcap hasn't revealed anything just yet. I'd say give it a few days once the buzz has calmed down a bit.
Judging from the fact that there have been NO up-dates whatsoever for Bookworm (and there are some badly needed ones) what makes you think we'll see such a speedy up-date for Peggle?
The best guess is no.. they did not rush the game out.. it is what it is. Bookworm was out 2 months ago.. no update.
I meant give it a few days and hopefully the devs pay attention and possibly mention an update. However, I don't see an update anytime soon.
wow just want to say this game is AMAZING! Jchampl told me to download the mac version demo and i was hooked after that. i love this game
