Is this Chapter 1 of the game that might be released with other chapters as IAP? Graphics look sharp! Gameplay seems interesting... the great unknown sounds most intriguing! metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #3 metalcasket, Mar 17, 2017 This is half the game. The other half will be released as DLC. Whether it's paid or not (on all platforms) has yet to be shared. Also, that isn't the forum bug; this isn't universal. I took some video on each, but I record in like 720x30FPS, so there's a limit to how much you can tell from it. iPhone: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel iPad: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel yankeeblue000 Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2016 644 36 28 #5 yankeeblue000, Mar 17, 2017 Why does the description say ipad compatible? I bought it to play on my Ipad. I haven't tried it out yet. I hope there isn't any wierd incompatibility issues AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #6 AppUnwrapper, Mar 17, 2017 You can play it on there but it's not optimized. Breinstein Well-Known Member Sep 27, 2012 527 5 18 The Netherlands #7 Breinstein, Mar 17, 2017 what a strange decision .. this is the kind of game that you would expect to be made for a big screen and that if it was not universal , it would be iPad only and not iPhone only ( playing it in 2x zoom is in most cases not a viable option) . So I am really in doubt now. I was excited when I saw the trailer , but my eyes aren't what they used to be and the last thing I want is a beautiful game and miss half of all the details because it is to damn small fabell Well-Known Member Feb 3, 2016 161 0 0 #8 fabell, Mar 17, 2017 Pardon my ignorance, but what the hey is a "fourth-person puzzle"? I looked at the gameplay video above and it basically looks like a combo between Samorost/Machinarium and Monument Valley. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #9 metalcasket, Mar 17, 2017 I really don't mind that it's iPhone only since I literally have not touched my iPad in 2 years (nor will I ever bother with iPads again, tbh), but the only reason I'm not picking this up is that I'm afraid that iPad assets (if it's ever made universal) will cause the game to increase considerably in size. It's already 1 gig and that accounts for about 2 hours of play...what happens if it goes universal and the second half of the game is added? AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #10 AppUnwrapper, Mar 17, 2017 What's happening is that you have no direct control over the character. So it's not a P&C in the usual sense, where you tap and he goes to that spot. Instead, you manipulate the environment to try to get him to go where you want. It can be pretty tricky, with timed elements. So I'm still working my way through it. currymutton Well-Known Member Oct 16, 2008 4,430 1 0 #11 currymutton, Mar 17, 2017 Can't tell much difference on the monitor. The game currently struggles to run natively on the 3rd gen iPad, and with Apple's complicated system of compatibility-related stuff, the devs might have not wanted to limit too many devices. I've personally talked to them (as has Killercow), and by perhaps requiring the Lightning connector, they can make sure the game runs alright on everything after (and including) the iPhone 5, iPod touch 6th gen and the 4th gen iPad. RedThumb Well-Known Member Mar 10, 2016 84 7 8 #15 RedThumb, Mar 17, 2017 I might buy it when it becomes Universal, or they release an iPad version. Looks great, but there is no way I am going to play this 2x zoomed on iPad. Dankrio Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Jun 3, 2014 1,740 13 38 #16 Dankrio, Mar 17, 2017 How does this play on iphone? I have a 7 plus but, for the video, I would bet it should have been made with Ipads in mind. Mariko Well-Known Member May 19, 2016 210 1 0 #17 Mariko, Mar 17, 2017 That would be really great! It looks gorgeous and interesting. But I've got a 12.9" iPad Pro, which even when one uses 2x view mode for iPod games it displays them centered and all around it with about 2" of black background along all sides, which make some games very hard to play, especially if one has small hands. So an iPad compatible version would be fantastic! AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #18 AppUnwrapper, Mar 17, 2017 You can pinch to zoom, but then you're looking at an even smaller area. I can't stress how much I want to play this in all its full glory on my iPad. AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #19 AppUnwrapper, Mar 17, 2017 You're gonna be playing it more like a P&C, using one hand to hold your iPad and one hand to poke and pull at things. So the black space and 2x is more of an aesthetic issue than functional issue.
