Thanks PG. I'll have to keep an eye out for the exclamation marks on the character portrait next play through. I wasn't aware of that. I'll have to look into your strategy tips there also.
I also ran out of turns the first three times, then on the 4th, it started to click and I finished with 14 blessings left. Start by sending the cleric to the woods and the thief to the bridge (look at the closing conditions and you will see why). Don't be shy burning cards to close a location. One bad roll can really set you back. Half of the game is really budgeting stuff like blessings and understanding when you really need them and when not to.
EDIT: asked and answered, sorry Yea, iPad 3, go into video settings and turn effects off. Game looks almost the same but eliminates the lag.

Thanks to the touch arcade forum I finally beat the first scenario lol. Beautiful game, I enjoy it a lot. It's 35$ for unlock in Canada here EH, but il pay it happily. I just need it to work for iPhone so I can take it with me! Hope it happens soon! Tony
I'm really enjoying this game on a basic level - only playing with Rogue and Cleric so far. Beat the first and second scenario on my first try, but I lost in the third due to running out of blessings. I'm considering buying the pass just to open up options with the classes, but I think I'll wait for now and explore the game mechanics a bit more. I'm still not sure what's happening 100% of the time, but I'd say I'm a good 80% there. I want to grasp some slightly-above-basic strategies first. Are Heroic scenarios possible to beat with just the Rogue and Cleric with the starting-ish cards?
It is definitely playable. I finished the first 3 scenarios. Replayed and collect 750 coins I believe and unlocked the first adventure. I finished the 1st adventure and have over 1500 coins so far. Need to replay until get 4000 for adventure 2. I am now try to beat medium and hard level for all scenario. It is a great game. The last scenario for the first adventure is very hard. You need to understand all the mechanism and use the right cards in able to beat it. I haven't bought any characters yet since it is 1500 a person.
So I beat the Trouble in Sandport encounter in the Burnt Offerings adventure which grants a power feat. Unfortunately, my rogue died and I only was able to grant the feat to the cleric. I thought, "No problem! I'll just play it again, have the rogue survive, and I'll get the feat." No dice...even after beating it with rogue, still no power feat. The completion display for rogue has the encounter checked as complete. Am I thinking about this wrong or is it a bug?
Yep. Not only are the heroic scenarios possible, but I've actually completed almost every legendary scenario currently available in the game using just those first two characters. You'll occasionally find yourself hitting a wall, though, and at those times it can be easier just to move on to the next adventure (e.g. move up from Burnt Offerings to The Skinsaw Murders), and come back with better gear you can only find in those specific adventures, and the new abilities your characters gain when they "level up". Giving the two starter characters the weapon proficiency skill makes a world of difference, for example, as they no longer suffer a -4 penalty when using any of the non-trash weapons, and have access to new abilities with those weapons (such as the ability to discard a ranged weapon to fire it at an enemy in another location).
I believe the inability to grant feats to dead (or new) characters on a scenario/adventure replay is a known bug.
So I just finished the second scenario (the poisoner) and the after action screen where you have to get to the right number of cards for your char. deck is showing me short one card for the cleric. I have none in that categorie to give her and it's not giving me the arrow to move on. Is this a bug? Or what do I have to do... I banished cards to close locations. Does this mean they are gone from the deck permanently? Edit: weird, after clicking back and fourth a number of times 25 blessings of the gods came up and I added one and it let me advance. Definitely buggy since they should have appeared immediately and it would not let me advance.
Holy hell this game is buggy. I've had it decide that my party has gone from 3 characters to 6; I've had it force me to Examine location decks instead of exploring; I've had it require a Move action after defeating the villain; and there seems to be a memory leak or something that causes gameplay to slow to a crawl after about 20 mins of pay. Anyone else seeing this, or is an iPad Air just too old now?
Thanks for following up LordGek. Any chance of a link to it? Quest Mode, I just want to see what it is all about!!!
I now noticed, after a mission a few cards show up and I can exchange them between my characters. But only when I start a new party, al the available cards are shown. So I guess after a mission the NEW cards you can equip are probably limited to those you have kept after the mission?
