Well, I'll chalk it up to something I missed. Anyway, it is weird. It took me something like seven tries to beat that very first scenario, and then I blew through the rest of those missions plus the whole Goblin one with ease. Maybe I just had some really bad luck, or maybe the balance on it was bad. Either way, doing some quests now and really enjoying it! I look forward to the iPhone update.
Obsidian have stated that before the universal update hits, they'll do a big marketing push. So it seems unlikely that we'll see iPhone support today. But here's to hope
I'm angry I spent $1.99 on the daily gold. Either this thing has many bugs, or I'm an idiot. I don't think I'm an idiot. I can't be the only one experiencing this stuff. The number that appears under the dice check dropdown is the actual number that is needed to beat the bane, right? It takes into consideration any "pluses" added to the bane by an effects from the bane, scenario or location? And the number under my dice is the number added to my dice after my various effects, right? So if it says 9 under the dice check dropdown, and I roll a 16, and there are literally no other effects to consider from the scenario, location or monster card, why do I fail? This has happened many times in story and quest mode. In addition to this, there are many instances where I'm not given any dice from weapon reveals or blessings. I'll reveal a weapon to add a dX, and no die will appear. When I roll, the die isn't there, so I'm going into battle against a 15 monster with a basic combat d6. And, when I'm made to bury a card, I can't. There's no button prompt when tapping on any card anywhere on the screen that allows me to bury, and moving every visible card does nothing. I've touched every single thing there is to touch and tried drag/dropping cards in every direction possible. I simply have to close the app, abandon the game and start over if I'm told to bury a card, because nothing I do can let me move past it. There's a location with a monster inside it that requires a magic attack to defeat, and there are no cards from the two basic characters that can defeat this monster. It is impossible to close this location. This app has problems. I'm not stupid. I'm reading everything there is to read, and I'm either being beaten by bugs or rules the game isn't telling me are being applied. That's really terrible.
As far as the dice roll exceeding the check number but you're not winning, make sure you read the cards carefully. Some checks require the magic trait to permanently defeat the bane. Some banes such as the Satyr and Siren use dexterity and wisdom to defeat. As far as burying a card, there is a "dirt pile" at the bottom of the screen, middle left, that you can drag cards to for burying purposes. There are some bugs in the game and the rules documentation isn't the greatest, but if you can bear with the game and try to learn it, I feel it's worth it. I've played the game for over 200 hours and and still really enjoying it. If your issues persist, I highly recommend that you go to the Obsidian Tech Support site: http://forums.obsidian.net/forum/116-pathfinder-adventures-technical-support-spoiler-warning/
Yes, I'm aware of the "magic to beat" rule on some, and other things of that nature, as that was another separate problem that's vexing me. I read every single word written on the screen, and I'm losing rolls for no reason. I'm rolling well above the required number and with no other effects of any kind, I'm losing the roll. This isn't a situation of I beat the roll, but the monster ins't defeated. This is me rolling a 16 on a 9 and taking 7 damage for literally no reason. I see that dirt pile now, and I hope the person who designed that UI element bumps their head tonight. I can assure you, I've learned the game, and I am not stupid. The game has problems with UI as well as bugs.
Also, thank you for this link. It is clear for the threads here that the problems I'm seeing are happening to other people. This game is buggy as hell. They should try to fix that before launching the iPhone version so people won't get ripped off by a currently sub-par product.
I don't know why you have a problem with it. It is also described in the in game tutorial! Gesendet von meinem iPad mit Tapatalk
I don't recall ever having a tutorial. If it happens when you first load the app, it didn't happen for me. Problem is it is small, brown, placed on top of other brown things so it isn't visible, doesn't look like a button and doesn't have a hover-over animation or signal.
Am I the only one that after the update lost all his saved up gold? (On iPad). EDIT: All is ok, for some reason at the third reboot it worked!!!
Omg can't believe the phone compatibility has dropped! This should make many happy. Hopefully deepens the pockets of obsidian as well by bringing new players. Well done obsidian, really hope those profits come in. I'm all gold chested up after the humble bundle sale but am consider buying gold just to support. This is great news.
Been playing this all day instead of getting any work done! Although now I've had a chance to play it, is the dice action/animation/physics awful or is it just me? Not that it takes away from the game any, but... you know... DICE! I may be slightly spoiled...
Hey drelbs, there's been some posts over on the obsidian forum saying there's game breaking bugs in the update. How is the gameplay for you? Maybe it's android with the trouble? I'm holding off until I know a little more. Edit: I couldn't wait! Plus I know I can load back the old version if I have trouble because it's on my laptop and my phone is jb'd. Anyway here's my observations with a brief play; my gold and chests were kept in order, nothing out of place there. My story progress was all ok. I did not have a quest progress to speak of so can't comment there. In a game, the game was treating me as a new player with pop ups for noobs. Not a big deal, maybe that's just part of the process of now being on phone. There are a few, I'll call, minor UI issues such as the card display being over the "recharge or discard" buttons but you can still press the button so not a big deal in my opinion. Also there's a bit of funnyness going on with the display of your hand. You can jumble the cards around but then it will be stuck in jumble mode. I couldn't work out how to get out of it so I could read my cards normally, apart from selecting my other character from the icon in the top right and changing to them, then changing back and my hand would then be "settled" again. Not a problem if you have a second character. Not sure what the result will be if you're playing through with only one character. Other than that, they have really "mobile phoned" it so that everything displays much bigger. You can even turn your phone into portrait to see a full screen version of the cards which is great for an easier read but also checking out the card art. Overall, great result obsidian. Though my comments are early days.
