I finally get it! Well after having the game for a week, reading this thread and watching Critical Reviews video, I finally got it. I've been struggling to comprehend the mechanics so that the game didn't seem so random. I was getting my butt kicked and banishing, discarding, burying cards with reckless abandon. I finally completed my first adventure and it was the first time I felt competent with the mechanics. I've never played the physical game, but this game is a very good solo game with plenty replayability. The most difficult things for me to understand was the recharge/discard/banish mechanic and the deck as health. It is explained in the tutorial, but for some reason it didn't click until I watched the video. It's a definite buy if you are in to card builders or appreciated Tharsis on steam. I purchased the $1.99 30 day 200 gold pack and have already been able to purchase the discounted expansion and one character, Valeros. Good game
I was playing quest with Kyra and valeros. The party died. Now the game keeps looping to that screen and won't let me adjust the deck when I'm in quest mode. Is this a bug? I've restarted several times. IUpdate: I somehow managed to fix this but I'm not sure how.
Well, after completing the quest mode, I seem to have run into a bug that my heroes don't retain the experience or skills I earned. Guess I'll hold off playing until it's patched.
It's not a bug. You should press Experienced button and select respective heroes when creating team for next quest.
I did that and all my heroes are duplicated and none them reflect the experience form the quest I completed. Any other thoughts?
Retraction Ran through another Quest and custom named my Heroes to help keep track of them. So far so good. I still don't understand how this game keeps track of characters. There's a load of them which I assume are from all the quests I've failed, correct? So are the cards I find on a quest tied to those characters? If so that's a bummer because I had a nifty Superior Longsword for my fighter. Sorry for the previous mis-information.
I'm a little late in writing this reply but I just wanted to confirm that the latest iOS beta DID fix my Game Center and now I can play this game (and others!).
https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/86762-quest-mode-decks-availability-and-character-progression-til-card-role-selection/ That may or may not help / be related. Also general that forum is good for a browse. Of course taking nothing away from TA forum though.
Back to this... So... Whenever I hit the quest button, it goes back to the same screen. I cant delete the game or restart quest mode. Does that mean my game is basically unplayable until the next patch (or reinstall?). That would kind of suck.... I amassed a collection of gold from story-play that i intended to use....
This is easily my game of the year so far - on any console. I had no prior experience with the physical version of the game and thought that the tutorial and rule book did a great job of explaining things. I seriously can't stop playing.
Considering this is a board game, you do realise you can just use that thing called Google to download the rule book, or that other thing called YouTube to watch some playthroughs. If you can't arrange that for yourself then go back to angry birds.
Two week ago I dowload it and... delete it after 5 minutes. Last week I redownload it : there is maybe something in this game after all. Saturday I bought the 25 bucks bundle. Today I ordered Skull & Shackles. What kind of magic is this ?
While the tutorial surely lacks, the game itself could be one of the best iOS games of the decade, in all honesty.
It's been posted here before but I'll repeat it again, to anyone who has a hard time understanding the game by playing through the tutorial (as I did) and find reading rule books kind of dry, watch this extremely well made video: YouTube:video
Is there any hope of the coming update to have iPhone compatibility? That would be awesome. I have the game but am rarely home to use my iPad.
