Skill Feats let you increase one of your base stats (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma) by one point each time you're awarded the feat. There'll be a little + symbol next to the stats on your character sheet when you're able to use it. You can only get awarded each individual feat once per character, and the character needs to survive the scenario to receive that reward. I believe this is also one of the known bugged situations where a character who was dead at the end of the scenario the first time around won't receive the reward even if they replay it and survive.
Pocket Tactics Review Here is the review http://www.pockettactics.com/reviews/review-pathfinder-adventures/
Still riddled with bugs... Played a bit of the Story mode, very immersive, so I drag myself out to try the Quest mode. It is hard! Even when I play at the lowest difficulty setting. But the bugs about "experienced" characters you played and tailored in the Story mode make me rant! In short, your experienced characters are still duplicated, hard to navigate and none of improved skill feats is there... Also, I noticed even I completed the starting adventure in harder difficulty (all 3 scenarios), I still get no change in skill feat. Full bundle purchased, iPad Mini, latest iOS version. Edit: I guess most of you may have already noticed this: I found a couple of days ago that by discarding some cards or in general any blessing card after "exploration", you can keep on exploration using the same character without ticking off the timer. This is really nice and I see nowhere it is mentioned in the rule book nor the tutorial nor any game text. You really need to pay attention to all the signs shown up on screen...
Congrats, your comment made me facepalm SO hard.. I got up, booted up my PC, so I could respond. It says it LITERALLY ON THE CARD. All blessings. Right there bottom line. Discard the card to explore. It also says it on some allies including animals. It ALSO can say it in the top left as one of the "area" rules where if you draw X, you can explore again. For example: (these are printed but the card in the game is the same) It's not just you. Some of the cards get long winded and I don't want to read them either but.. it's right there... no rulebook needed.
Pardon if my comments were a bit too harsh. After reading your comments, I can't help but take out the BT keyboard and type directly from iPad (and launch to game to take a screenshot). Please understand as a noob who has no privilege of accessing the physical game, all I learn is from the rule book and from the tutorial provided in the app. Both do not mention you can discard a blessing card to get going, as one who is negligent enough would naturally think: the blessing card is for better throw and that is it! To be fair, the app does highlight some cards without saying what it is about: But there is no game text explaining why some cards glow and what choice you have, except on the right, you either have a trash button or an arrow button passing to another party member, which strongly prompts the player to ignore what happen about the cards and naturally go straight ahead and click that button. This is one of the UX issues I am not very wild about. Yes, if I spend more time and learn more about the cards just right, but I also have a strong feeling that the game no way should leave the player clueless. Thank you for your time. Edit: gosh, I really do not get what the fuss is all about -- I think I clearly said I think everybody knew that already before I type the previous message...and then it blew out of proportion...(note to self)If this were the BGG it may have made more sense (note to self)
I suppose we could all be a bit nicer to everyone, as we're all learning the ropes to the game. I didn't find currymutton's comment to be anything out of the ordinary. While we're at it, maybe then someone can clarify something to me as well: When I'm using the "Cure" skill for the-base-character-that's-not-the-rogue-and-whose-name-and-class-elude-me, I notice that when I reveal a card (or maybe only if I reveal a blessing), the "explore" animation on the card deck is still active. Does that mean I can explore when I do that, is it a bug, or am I missing something? Or is it just that I can cancel the "cure" action?
I will try to be nicer, but honestly the "it's not mentioned" gets old. Especially when it's right there. People have been throwing the "bug" card around a lot of items like this... but that's why I couldn't be a Dev because I'd point it out constantly. AFAIK it highlights the deck, but I seem to recall it does it even after you'd explored. I could be wrong about that though. You can cancel the cure up until the dice roll though.
I was curious about it so I decided to investigate further, and it must just be a visual artifact then. The deck does stay highlighted until after you have cast cure and have rolled the die. It is, however, impossible to interact with it. I had never really attempted to do anything there, with the fear of losing my turn or messing up the game Cheers, thanks!
Anyone able to give some thoughts about which character to buy first ( I'm using the gold from daily gold ) thanks. I like spell casters so was thinking sorcerer or wizard..
I bought the season pass and after playing with most characters I think the druid is very strong. She has probably the strongest early spell, cure and is able to modify her rolls.
That's awesome thanks for the info. I ended up buying the wizard, and he seems fun to play. I like the spells he has. Really fun game. I have to dive in for 34.99 (Canadian dollars) and play the heck out of this lol.
My "strongest" characters are my Wizard and Sorceress. Especially after I got them some of the "auto" spells that return them to my hand. It's hilarious to pull Acid, Lightning, Acid. Used them in concert with explore/blessings and then have them return to my deck and pull them again for the next turn.
@Currymutton - Hi. There's no need to apologise and nobody is having a rant at you - Ikeda's comments are quite funny though! As he said above, the descriptions are quite clearly stated on the cards and near the bottom of every blessing card, there is a line that explains the card can be discarded to continue exploring. So it is only fair to suggest reading them is a good idea - perhaps Ikeda's tone was a little fraught but you can't dispute, it was amusing! I would just add - the tutorial does outline that blessing cards and certain other cards can be discarded to continue exploring. I'm guessing English isn't your native tongue so it's possible this was lost in translation or you've just skipped that bit....but again in fairness, the cards clearly reinforce this if you read the descriptions. I'm not sure which cards you're referring to but as yet, I have not found a card that doesn't clearly explain its main purpose/ability and all its secondary/tertiary abilities. The original physical card game has been in hard format for long enough that any quirks or poor descriptions would have been ironed out by now - and as this is a direct copy of that game, it is unlikely that it contains any cards that don't clearly explain all options available. Regarding glowing cards - again, this is mentioned in the tutorial but to clarify, any cards that can be played/discarded/recharged etc will glow when there is potential for them to be used. If a card isn't glowing, then you can't use it at that time. You need to understand what the card can do and also understand the context of the situation ie what is required to pass/defeat/evade/acquire the currently drawn card from the location deck. It is a complex game and it does require a good grasp of the English language (assuming you're playing in English!) to fully understand the nuances. Even I have to read and re-read cards two or three times to fully grasp what they do and then I have to mull over each option to decide what outcome will best benefit me. Thinking this much makes my head hurt but I'm really enjoying it! Hope that helps and don't take the comments too much to heart - anyone who posts on public internet forums needs to be a little thick skinned at times!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh I think see where the disconnect is now. Currymutton, Without going swipe crazy, tap the card in your hand. It'll go fullscreen so you can read the text. I'm pretty sure that's why you didn't know they told you what they did. Tap each card and read it over. Some of them DO spiele on for a minute and can be confusing (which is what I assumed happened). I ALSO recommend you read them in your screen before you start a mission. Some cards (like Arcane) are best on Arcane types while Divine is better on the healer types. Check your character and try to harmonize your spells. This will get you more bang for your buck and ALSO get you cards back in your hands. Sometimes if you don't do that and you cast the spell it'll banish it (or bury it), which can be a pain in the middle of a tough fight. BGG is ok too but sometimes that group gets even more condescending than me. And I'm a pretty big smartarse.
No hard feelings guys! Yup, just like Twilight Struggle, Ascension and many other card games, knowing your cards, is a must. Enjoy!
