Found Dark Mist first time (in Adamina), what is it for? Does it have any meaning besides fighting with tough enemy and take some nice things?
Dark mists only have 1-3 enemies, they don’t drop anything but they guard chests which give you some decent items at that point of the game (like immundas for the one in Heggim). Not mandatory, and you can always come back to them later, but a nice to have if you want to make an easier run for the upcoming stages. There are 4 dark mists areas in total, one hidden in each of the first 4 stages (last one in katib, no more after that). Take it as a self challenge. I normally go in there after I spent all my small bones so I won’t lose anything even if I die. There is no downside to trying, and when there are more than one enemy in a dark mist, you can kill one, open its chest, go out and come back, then kill the other one. You don’t have to defeat both in one go. You get abnormal real fast in the dark mist though.
Two more questions: 1. Fully missed the game explanation about Abnormal status When do you receive it and how to get rid of it? 2. Side Quest with wedding ring - I have found the ring, return ring to knight, knight moved to chapel, bit quest is still active. Is it a bug, or will it be some follow-up later?
The Heggies respawn after you rest at a save point. So I normally try feeding him some of the most recoverable food first like sanity or health bottles. (or small bones when I was doing the level 1 achievement run because you get way too many small bones to spare). You can exit the feeding mode half way and swap character then continue feeding, the right food stacks and won’t reset even if you exit half way (say you are low on sanity of health bottle).
Spoiler: Dark mist location Heggim - after completing the stage, go back to the boss area, there is a lift and a ladder you can kick to give you a short cut. After going down the lift go to your right along the platform above of the houses to hill side path to get to the dark mist. Adamina - towards the boss area before you to the bridge, to your left there is a gap at the you can jump down, there are wooden platforms you can use to slowly jump down to the bottom, and there is a cave entrance. Go through there and you will find a gate you can open which gets you to the dark mist area. this one can be attempted before defeating the Adamina boss. Exilium - just before the boss area, there is a lift that goes down. After activating the lift while in it and going down, face to your left and keep running, you will run out of the lift and drop on a platform before the lift hits the ground, there is a Heggie there and a cave entrance next to it. The dark mist is in that cave. Katib - towards the back of the village, round the corner of the large fire boar, there is a ladder that gets you to the top of a hut, go around the hut platform and you can drop down to a stone platform and there is a cave you can enter. Dark mist in there.
Abnormal status activated when you start killing things. Game makes it human like, like you start facing hardship environment you start going mental. You kill things, you get attacked, you are in dark mist, or in boss area, the mentality gauge starts to drop. You can drink sanity potion to regain your sanity. Abnormal appears when your gauge is half way, you start to get abnormal effect (each characters effect is different, eg Terence gets lower health, can’t dodge twice in a roll, Viola suspend stamina regain after its completely depleted if she is in bleeding status, etc. you can check it in the status screen, there are descriptions on each persons abnormal effect.) when your mentality gauge is completely empty, you will be in lunatic mode, at which point drinking sanity potion won’t regain your sanity. You either have to kill your own shadow or rest at a save point (if you are not in dark mist or boss room), or you need to kill the boss (if you are in boss room), or exit the dark mist area (if you are in dark mist). Additional note on dark mist, if you go lunatic for too long in the dark mist area, you simply die. Your sanity gauge will turn red when you are in lunatic stage and the gauge will slowly deplete. Once it’s at the bottom you die.
Spoiler: Wedding ring side quest finish the boss in exilium, she gives you the knight’s head and her ring (Jeny’s ring). You bring the head to Patrick (the knight) and he will ask to challenge you at the boss area. Defeat him and you get his ring back (Patrick’s ring). You can use the two rings to forge a stage special trophy.
one more thing about abnormal status, if you keep gulping down sanity potion, you can technically defeat bosses without going lunatic, but if you are a perfectionist, you would want to defeat all bosses in a lunatic state. They drop condensation honey if they are defeated while you go insane. And doesn’t matter how low their HP you got them to, once you go lunatic their HP will be back to 50% (or at whatever HP they were at if you reached lunatic without getting their health down to below 50%). Boss gets stronger but the condensation honey is well worth it. Spoiler: Use for condensation honey 7 in total in the whole game, one dropped by each boss. In your first visit to katib, towards the end of the stage you will come across an undertaker and he will give you a melos bottle. You can upgrade the Melos bottle 7 times with condensation honey and anthozoan bones by visiting him. A very decent trophy.
@Lyhh, thank a lot for detailed answers. it’s so great to have on mobile the game of Demon’s Souls level.
Pleasure. Read earlier threads for some of the trophies details. Some are quite useful and you can miss them if you don’t perform certain side quests before completing the stage. Each stage have a stage special trophy and some stages have more than one version depending on your actions within that stage.
Spoiler: Dying Demiurge She’s in the blessedland, not in Edith. It’s a blessedland side quest. Kinda near the beginning of the stage in a round garden where there is a big tree, she is standing right by it, can’t really miss her. If you still can’t find her please let me know.
@Lyhh, could you explain a bit how to play with Benita? She seems quite weak, but probably this is just since I don’t understand how to play her correctly. so far Norwood seems as the most powerful character.
To be honest I don’t really know. I don’t really use her. Other members in earlier threads mentioned something about some of her normal attacks absorb HP and also you can use the pure blood to regain health as well, and said somehow she regains pretty quickly, but I never really tried. I think it’s just too much of a hassle to have to watch over her blood level while you still have to run around and dodge attacks. Plus you don’t gain pure blood if your attack misses, so she seems to me the most dangerous character to use. I only use Norwood in Adamina, and the rest is pretty much Terence and Viola. Viola is pretty decent, fast dodge and fast attack. Her close range is somewhere in the middle of Terence’s strong slash and weak slash, plus both Terence and Viola have the roll on slash talent (in the skill tree, always my first to activate with my first couple of immundus) which makes it easier to run into close range and do a quick attack and dodge away. Attack speed and dodging is quite essential to me in later stages, especially against bosses. With Norwood it’s basically an HP swap to me, I land an attack and so does the boss, see who dies first. Also Viola is fast, as in running speed, and I usually do backstab most of the time with the stealth boots after I obtain them in exilium, so it’s pretty much a stealth game to me. With beasts that you can’t backstab, I usually just run to it’s back and do a red bullet full off load 6 rounds or if I’m close I unload 6 blue rounds. Pretty deadly in close range. One thing to note on leveling up though, you get attack up with adding agility to Viola and intelligence with Benita, so it’s not always strength. Viola has pretty high critical and critical helps a lot in the game. My trophy build is also somewhat critical based.
Spoiler: Final Map with Benita that being said, in the final map you are stuck with Benita and Terence, Viola and Norwood are not available in that map until you kill the final boss (where you can still run around all the maps and do more farming after defeating the final boss, if you so wish). So you might wanna try out Benita. To me I just use Terence the whole time in the final map.
