$0.02? That's 3 cent more than $0.99! PLUS TAX. That's WAAAY more than I'm ever gonna pay for a mobile game! Mobile games are just time wasters. Duhhhh. I rather buy a soda or a burger than a $0.99 cent quality game! It sux juss because it's on mobile!

    EDIT: *Grabs Popcorn*

Game intro so creepy. Reminds me of Torico or Enemy Zero on the Saturn. Stiff, unnatural grapics and awkward robotic acting. Although this could also add to the charm. In any case, I'm freaked out lol

I was just suggesting some motion blur at least to help out those textures. Be it a good quality title, I'd pay upwards of $7.99 for it. But the game isn't so I'm not any time soon. Best regards to the developer & hopefully they pursue much more fitting projects in the future.

I totally agree, if the game is decent then I don't mind paying a good price

I waited to weigh in. This is unpolished, raw, and has poor production value. That said, I am impressed with the scope of the complete project. It deserves praise for its attempt to bring a big game. Keep fair and honest pressure on this piece of coal. It could end up a diamond. Good luck and cheers. Stay encouraged.

Wow. A copy if a copy. And just like on a copy machine, quality degrades with each copy.

Thank you hope you enjoyed ! Feel free to contact us if you have any request :)

Thank you :) yes you're right actually for games like "flappy bird" no one complained… :p

Thank you for your suggestions ! Yes for the next update we added some Motion Blur and Ambiant Occlusion (depending on your device though) and we tried to make some textures look better. Just to know have you played the game or are you saying this because of the screenshots ?

Well our purpose was (and still is) to give people an affordable GTA-like game on mobile without any ads or in-app purchases. We're doing all in our power to remain faithful to our project, so the price won't increase. We're continuing to work on it and it needs time and money so thank you for giving us useful tips it helps a lot :)

Actually your judgement seems to based only on one or two screenshots…but have you even read the description or played the game ? Everything in the description is true and it took us two years of work to build the city so please judge only after having played :)

Thank you for the encouragement. The main work (city, missions, vehicles…) is done, so it won't take much time to improve it as you want. What do you suggest us to do ? :)

Let's not compare this to those flappy meaningless games, you guys did try to make a proper game which is good, but I think you could have make a small but better game at first before trying to do a big GTA like, it's like trying to get miss France with only 10 dollars in wallet ^^ it's possible but difficult.

There should be more detail in the general city rather than big spaces, grass should be actual grass rather than a green texture.

Good one I think I laughed more than I should have :p

Thank you for this advice ! :)
If you haven't downloaded the game, I think you're talking about the screenshot with the cops and the Eiffel Tower. Well this place behind the Eiffel Tower is called Champ de Mars, and it's actually a big green space.

If you have played, you perhaps noticed another green space, it's the Esplanade des Invalides, and there's nothing out there than grass. So we can't add any building in those areas if we want to reproduce the existing sites. If you've seen the map, there are districts such as the 8eme (Champs Elysées), the 9eme (Opera) and the 2eme (Notre Dame) where there's no empty space.

However you're right these sites are too much empty, so we added much details such as benches, fences, distributors and statues (sorry it will be available in the next update). We'll try to replace the grass texture with real 3D grass but I don't know if it will be possible on all the devices because of performance issues.

Kudos to the developer for answering so much, despite being basically kicked in the balls in most posts in this thread.

Nice to see some smaller developer try it out with a bigger scope of games than just one touch endless runner pixel puzzle shooters or whatever is this months copy and paste taste.
    :)

Anyways, I decided to TOFT. So here goes.

I liked the intro. Felt like a throwback to Sega Saturn. Sound quality on voice acting was bad, but the premise of the story pretty good in a camped spy novel kind of way. Good start, if not a great one.

The tutorial was bland and dreadfull, the interface ugly.

When in the town, it was easy to recognize some landmarks, but textures were low quality.
There was a helicopter I took for a ride and the map seemed a decent size. Fighting was not fun or well executed.

I would always prefer GTA to this, and also Gangstar. One thing though: The game is not a scam.

But it is little more than a Goat Simulator without the humor. I don't see why anyone on a low budget would pick this over Gangstar. And surely not why anyone with money to spend would take this instead of any of the GTA games.

Hope this helps with any buying decisions. :)

You seem to have been overwhelmed with people suggesting what you should do to improve your game. My suggestion is to listen to your audience. Do what you do best, improve your art.

Ok first thank you for this review and for playing :)

For the intro perhaps we should have recorded English voices instead (it would have been easier :p ) we'll try to change that (are you French ?)

It's only a tutorial, its main purpose is to learn how to play. But we can replace it with a lighter static tutorial, in order to start playing faster.

What fight are you talking about ? With the cops, random enemies or in the missions ?

My personal feeling is that you compared too much our game to GTA, developed by a big company since 1997 and initially targeting consoles. It was a mistake to call our game like that, and because of this it's harder for people to enjoy it for itself and to play without comparing.

Our purpose has never been to reach a GTA level. We just wanted to give people a GTA-like game with a nonlinear gameplay in a context where the new mobile games are more and more 2D, endless runners or RPG games.

So the point is that yes, you're right, if you have the choice between GTA and Gangster Paris, you would probably pick GTA.
But if you have already finished GTA (or Gangstar) and you want to play another GTA-like on your mobile, or if you want a more affordable GTA-like, then here it is.

It helps us going in the right direction :)
But indeed we were surprised because we thought people would talk more about the game itself and what to improve in it, rather than taking about the screenshots, the intro or the tutorial. Obviously we were wrong we learned for next time… :p
And we're trying to improve the graphics and textures resolution for the next update.

Erm.. Where are the shadows? Everything just looks like it's floating around, and not part of the world.

100% of the people who look at your game on the App Store will see the screenshots.
100% of the people who download and start your game will see the intro.
Maybe 80% of those will see the tutorial.
Only about 10% of those will actually finish the game.

It's only logical that what you put in the start of a game will be the most seen and the most talked about.

That effect is due to the lack of light sources, Ambient occlusion & proper shadows. The textures also offer Little to no depth at all. I'm happy to hear that the developer is taking criticism constructively & I hope to see a very different game in the coming weeks so I can support this up & comer ! :)
