Already have vs. Racing but I'm a sucker for games like sketch nation where you make you own things. Post back later with impressions. Would have bought it instantly if there was an ipad version. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #6 oooooomonkey, Jun 25, 2011 Right well I've done the first 7 racers and made my own car. First off the car creation works nice and easy, just to test it out I drew a basic car on some paper took a pic and it worked first time and looked sweet In the game. The actuall racing is very nice the handling is cool, drifting a little when turning tightly. The tracks are all well done with nice little touches like the skid marks staying on the track for the entire race and adding to this there are patches of paint around the track, driving through them your car leaves tire marks of the paint colour for a few seconds (which also stay for the entire race). So far it's looking like a very nice racer and a no brainer if your a racer fan as for 59p it's a bargain. Even if like me you like the whole thing of oooo look that's my creation in the game (like skecth nation) then it's still worth getting. Hope this helps people a bit with the decisions. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #7 strivemind, Jun 25, 2011 Holy snot this looks good. I watched the trailer, and am very impressed with the particle system. It looks like there's spilled paint everywhere on the tracks, and your tires realistically smear it all over. So cool. Howlingwolf Well-Known Member Feb 18, 2010 2,208 0 0 Uk #8 Howlingwolf, Jun 25, 2011 Totally agree with oooooomonkey I'm having a blast with this so far and the neat little touches of skidmarks are great . The AI seems to be set about right with a little rubber banding . I have lots of top downs on my iPhone and this is definitely in my top 3 and the fact you can add your own creation to the game is the iceing on the cake . Is the worth your buck without a doubt . bckrupps Well-Known Member Nov 28, 2009 127 0 0 #9 bckrupps, Jun 25, 2011 I bought it for my ipad 2. For a buck its really fun. If you are on the fence it scales up nicely and is really worth it on the ipad also. Maybe someday it will be universal but the upscaling doesnt affect the graphics much on a game done graphically like this and the controls are still easy to reach. 2 thumbs or 5 stars up in my opinion. sugimulm Well-Known Member Aug 28, 2010 2,456 46 48 The last time zone for iOS game releases :( #10 sugimulm, Jun 25, 2011 Thank you oooooomonkey and Howlingwolf (again ) just bought and it is AWESOME. I noticed some obstacles like pencils, blocks, things like that, but are there any jumps, much variety and so on? I'm sure I'll end up getting this but I'm just curious about that one detail as everything else sounds serviceable at least, and possibly excellent at best. Coldar Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2008 2,458 5 38 Upstate NY/USA #17 Coldar, Jun 26, 2011 Checking into this more but looks to be a bought game for me. Great to see more top down racers being made. Thanks to all for your impressions. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #18 oooooomonkey, Jun 26, 2011 The tracks start of quite simple in design and then get better as you progress with things like cross overs and and split paths even nitro strips, I haven't had any jumps yet but I still haven't unlocked the last set of tracks so I'm not sure. As for the pencils and blocks around the track they can all be moved when you crash into them, nearly everything has it's own physics to it. Hope this helps.
