Awesome This game is looking really awesome! There's only one thing that could ruin it: in app purchases. I hate when I scroll down and see "Remove adds", or "unlock all levels". I think it's best to set a decent price and possibly make a lite/free version. But yeah, keep up the great work!
We are tinkering with some in app purchase options BUT.... You don't have to worry about being forced to pay to help you advance or even earn power ups. The only stuff we are looking into including are some fun and silly vanity stuff. None of which gives players an advantage in the slightest. Since it's already going to be a paid game we want people to be able to have the full experience just by buying the game one time and thats it. For the player who isn't really into this sort of thing you can just skip it and not have it effect your gameplay at all.
I noticed in the video that your overall score is based on a number of factors including time taken to complete level. So are there any power ups that freezes/slows down time and enemies as well?
No, we actually removed the time element entirely. Some of the levels are very large. After more and more testing it really began to feel like a timer discouraged people from finding everything. This is not the type of game where you just wanna get to the end as fast as possible. Bonuses and gameplay are geared towards encouraging exploration and finding secret areas.
Score based (game center) with various collectables. Levels do have checkpoints but, if you want a 3/3 bonus you gotta do it in one clean shot.
Is it possible to save your process whenever you want? Or do you at fully least support fast app switching? I will regularly find myself mid way through game on the way to work, then I have to switch to work related apps throughout the day. It would such to be most of the way through one of these large levels and lose progress.
There isn't any kind of snapshot style save but, fast switching is pretty effective for what you describe. If you have to do something work related such as restock a tower or simply check on a smurf berry crop will find your game paused when you come back.
^^ This game is sounding greater by the moment. I, for one, am a bit tired of the "race to the end" platformers. I'm sure there are plenty of people who really enjoy them, but they're not my cup of tea. Bonuses and secrets, on the other hand, are things I'd really like.
When is this projected to release? It looks stunning! I love platformers like these, I'm looking forward to this one as much as I am for Mario 3DS!
Can you give us platform game lovers a time frame? When will this be submitted? 2011? Or when in 2012? It's been months. I dont mind that: a good game takes time to develop. So thats cool. But some sort of release date would be nice.
We're in (seriously) the final stages so I think it should be submitted at least in about two weeks or so. All of the bosses are in, just need tidying up, and performance stuff, tweaks, etc
