No official date is scheduled but, things are moving along pretty quickly so probably pretty soon. Shooting to release within the next couple months. Also added a little info about online saving (the cloud thing) you WILL be able so save your unlocked levels across all your devices And there is some debate about deleting apps and being able to still come back to where you left off. I suppose it varies before from game to game but, in Paper Monsters you can absolutely 100% delete the game from all of your devices and then later re download and have all of your levels still be unlocked. BOOYAH!
Not to get off track, but this is hopefully good news for icloud game saves in general and means that eventually all games will be able to implement this easily. Congrats on making it work, but as jdragoon said, who would want to delete this game anyway.
Well, stuff happens. Things get lost. It's nice to know if you drop your iPod in a mote at a castle on vacation you can head to the local walmart, pick up a new iPod and be right back in the action.
Yes well... thats always comforting. The E3 video, are those levels part of the final version, or are you still doing level design? They look pretty dam good as is, although someone did mention one thing that I had to agree with, the boss battle area was a bit empty. Besides that its looking gorgeous. Has a control scheme been mentioned/decided on yet?
Just seen the vid and I noticed that the guy made the music on an ipad2 with garageband... but isnt garageband nothing more than a drag and drop looping tool? I can't imagine how you can create really good original productions with GB let alone on the ipad 2. Besides that, I hope apple doesn't make a big deal out of it in terms of copyright. Usually they are very strict when it comes to adding apple related stuff into apps.
http://www.apple.com/ipad/from-the-app-store/garageband.html There are no loops used. Not even drum loops. Everything is 100% composed. GarageBand on ipad is quite amazing. It has a full touch sensitive keyboard so you can play whatever you want. Not to mention the sounds especially the organs and synths are killer. Plus 4 drum kits that are touch sensitive. The only limitation is there aren't any great horns or anything. There is really not much you can't do with GarageBand these days. Pretty much a portable pro tools. Check out that video in the link I posted above.
Glad to hear it. I've always kind of felt the platform genre was lacking a bit on the iOS, so hopefully PM will be a big step forward. It sure looks like it from the video.
ok cool, didn't knew that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOR_vMBp298 Watching this right now.. Based on this review this app seems extremly limited when it comes to making music - with the idea that this is an app targeted for everyone who isn't familiar with producing of course. It even automates the chords for guitars. The question is, why did you - or the other guys decided to do the music with GB on the ipad while you could've used Logic or Cubase instead? beats me actually..
GarageBand and logic run the same and the ipad version is compatible with the Mac version. So it is the same stuff at the core. I suppose we could change our mind at anytime. I would never sacrifice quality. I actually have cubase in my home studio and spent the last 15 years professionally in the recording industry. Even after all that I really don't feel limited at all. One can do alot with good keys, drums and a real guitar! Sure cubase has 700 more tracks and autotune but Sgt pepper was reorder on 4 lol. Plus keep in mind the final product goes on iOS. It's nice to know exactly what the end result will sound like while you are makin it.
15 years professionally? Now you're making me curious What was/is your pseudonym in the music industry? Also, what kind of music do you make? link pls
Haha, I never said I was famous! When I get a chance ill mix down a couple tunes from the game and post them.
I agree the game looks amazing. However, when I look at the boss fight it kinda looks like this boss could possibly have a little more variety of attacks. For example, you do see the boss firing single shots one at a time but what if the boss in some occasion can fire multiple shot in the air off screen. Then these shots create a shadow to help the player to avoid the incoming missiles that come straight down to the floor. There could also be another attack when the boss flies over the playing field. Instead of just flying by what if sometimes he could possibly drop multiple shots along the playing field while flying by. There could also be several gaps in between those shots to allow the player to squeeze through and avoid being hit. Adding these I think could possible give a little more challenge and variety to the boss fight. What does everybody think?
huh, I never said either..? If you spend 15 years professionally like you said in the music industry, you gotta have some producername you were producing under right? I'd like to hear some of that music you were making the last 15 years
No, of course not. He could have been doing almost anything. Contract work that doesn't have anything to do with getting his name on the final product, for example.
the music in the game is great, that's one of the reasons I really love this game. Especially the boss music!
True, but he used that example of his 15 experience in such context that I assume it was him actually making music or indirect involvement in music making for 15 years long. Why else would he have brought it up? anyway... I played doodle monsters for the very first time today, and let's just say that I hope the developers has seen the light (as much as all the stars and suns there is out there) en turned their heads 360 degrees because doodle monsters is without a doubt one of the worst games I have ever played both visually and gameplay wise - wich in itself is quite an accomplishment I hope the devs agree with me on that! I have a few questions left for this game: How many world/levels are there going to be? How many boss fights? Now I'm going to shut up and see how this game is going to turn out. *edit* one more thing though, you might consider changing the name of this game because there are litteraly hundreds of titles with "monster" or "paper" in their names...
