Game Impressions Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel I am afraid I am a bit too dumb for this one :'(
Not in the slightest; there's a real learning curve in this from what I remember. Exploring is something that feels counter-intuitive in that you shouldn't travel too much initially as it's the main means of healing IIRC. It's second nature once you've spent an hour or two with it. Have to say though, it seemed to run fine in your video and I didn't notice any glaring grammar issues at least.
Has anyone able to download this for an iPhone yet? I get to the purchase page and click the price and it kicks me out. Before like above I got that iTunes message and at one point it even told me that this game is only available for the iPad.
The whole of the App Store is having issues, I'd be amazed if you could buy anything atm. At least it's not just you!
This is actually a really long time for it to be down. Who did it? Who thought it would be funny? Guys! Stop taking down things with stuff we like!
Grr! *shakes fist at AppStore! * I'll vouch for this being a good game on PC, I've had it for some time. I wonder if everybody decided to wait a day to download 8.2 and now Apple's distribution servers are getting hammered...
If you're talking about rotating the UI 90 degrees (landscape to portrait mode) it's because it's a pain in the ass unless the developer is extremely good at building modular user interfaces with smart anchoring. Spoiler alert: very few developers are. It's also enough of an edge case that the extra time and resources to support it are usually not worth it. Yes, it's going to annoy a small percentae of customers, but you can also take that smart cover off in 2 seconds.
I'm waiting for unbiassed impressions on this one. Some remarks took my finger off the buy button, i need a few good reasons to push again.
Also able to purchase it, the relief is palpable! I'm coping fine with the UI, I can see why some would have issues but it's almost identical to the PC version. That could mean that I'm used to it though so I'm hesitant to comment on it. That said, if you want to enjoy the game, it's definitely not enough to prevent that happening. There are many grammar issues throughout, though only one so far that I couldn't discern what they meant. The rest is the usual slightly poor translation that most RPG-ers are used to. That doesn't make it OK of course, especially as I don't remember them in the PC version given that they generally make my teeth grind. It's still the solid experience I expected. Not for everyone and most certainly not perfect. I'd say it's an easy recommend given the price and sheer amount of content involved but take other's comments into consideration. If they sound like they'd put you off then you probably have your answer.
The irony as I was just looking for something like this the other day while sifting through the glut of the App Store! This is exactly what I was looking for ( well this and Sid Meiers Starships). Just been hankering for a good tactics kind of game that's not the handful of worthy ones I've already played a billion times! Buying now!
No, I mean the screen won't rotate 180 degrees. With the case on, and folded back, I hold the device when it's in Landscape with the folded case in a triangular shape furthest away from me, so the screen slopes towards me when on a table. Unfortunately this game displays so that it's upside down when I do this and will not auto-rotate, as most (95%) of games do automatically. It's basic UX and there's really no excuse (certainly it's not difficult to do).
I think this is the biggest problem - if you already know what's going on, this is probably fine but for the new player it's REALLY confusing. I've cancelled my purchase rather than fight my way through this. I'll re-purchase if a meaningful tutorial is added in the future...
