Yes...it's a marketing strategy. These guys make games to make a profit. They try to draw attention to their games, so they can make more money...just like every other business on the planet. If someone gives away one promo code for their game, it's a gift. If they make it available for free for a couple of hours, that's even more generous. Remember, they don't have to give away ANY copies at all.
Huh? You just posted twice and gave away nothing. The developer gave lots of copies of his game away for free. How is that the same?
I was giving away free gifted Papa Sangres to whoever PM'ed me in my 5 second time frame. Don't get upset just because you missed it. Gimme a break
K. Stop. Son, everone - come now. You're not 5 years old. Do you need to go to a time out spot? The dev made an uncomfortably short window to make this free. I disagree with the miniscule amount of time the window was open as much as anyone, but acting like a childish fool isn't going to make things better. Just be patient or contact the dev, LIKE AN ADULT, and tell them why you're upset. It really isn't that hard. (that's what she said)
Damnit no I'm not. I've been stalking this game for a while now, waiting very paitently for a sale. I just figured out how to track apps with AppShopper yesterday too. So tonight I decided to watch The Last 3 Years starring Russle Crowe with my wife, kick ass movie btw, and due to the damn CNN and AP Mobile pop-ups about the meltdown in Japan the only notification I got from AppShopper is the pop-up notification about the end of the sale. Ok now I'm done.
Just want to chime in on the "freebie" period that took place. I too would've liked to try this game out and missed the 5 minute window. The fact that it was free for a few minutes was a generous gesture by the developer. But let's point out the obvious here. This game has terrible app store sales. That being said, you'd think the developer would possibly realize they are overcharging greatly for this game and lower the price or even offer a "whole day" freebie period... $4.99 buys some pretty amazingly developed apps, NBA Jam, SF4, etc. Even $.99 buys apps that surely have more production/replay value than this.
Dont blow things out of proportion, u know it wasnt 5 minutes, more like 5 hours or so. Better luck next time. I for one didnt expect this game to go free, have been contemplating this game for awhile, would have bought it if it went to 2.99 or something like that. When appshopper notify me that it was free, i didnt waste anytime, just got on itunes and click buy, only to realise 10 minutes later it went back up to 4.99$. Guess it was my lucky day.
got it free last night. came back this morning and seems like i was one of the lucky few. thanks for the heads up. this is why they made this part of the forum. nothing lasts forever.....
YEAH! Take THAT! lol sorry, i was one of the lucky few who got this baby for FREE! and is such an experience, and the graphics, oh the graphics! they're beutiful, even more beautiful if you play with your eyes closed! like a dream! what a MASTER PIECE!
I decided to pointlessly post just to bump the thread one more time and maybe dupe a few people into thinking this was free again because I'm a mean spirited oaf*. *[By this I mean - Can't a moderator just lock the thread already?!? Thanks]
