Wow, just got back from the midnight showing. I had to go alone to the theater which I never do and haven't done since I was so excited for District 9. This movie was crazy, intense, claustrophobic, gory, scary, had a great story, and the acting wasn't bad at all. Dennis Quade was in it whom I hate, but Ben Foster was there to make up for it. If you played the iPhone game, I've played only the first level, that first level goes pretty well with the movie. I'm not sure about the others. I'm definitely going to finish the game now. The next part of this thread will give a short synopsis which semi-spoiler free because what it says is explained in the first 5 minutes(maybe less) of the film. The movie starts out with Ben Foster waking up in a hibernation chamber on a space ship traveling to a planet that can sustain human life. which is basically a coffin that keeps you alive until your ready to wake up. These chambers are put there so crews can switch shift since the planet is so far away. As you see in the trailer, the ship looks abandoned and it also states that they are not alone. The movie felt to me like Neil Marshalls' The Decent... in space. Except..... well actually... that pretty much covers it haha. The movie is thrill ride, action nonstop, and very very gory. The story that builds up is amazing and a great sorta-like twist at the end. My words wont really explain this movie, just go spend your $10 and see it! See it with friends if you'd like. 5/5 for me This movie is my second favorite movie of 2009 the first being District 9. Im going to see this movie again =D
