It doesn't really. It's sort of playing the other side of Plague Inc, but this is a board game, whereas Plague is pure video game.
I finally picked up Pandemic and this amazing. It's one the best IOS board games I've ever played. The presentation and controls are spot on. I highly recommend it!
Pass-and-play mode? Among those who have got this game, can anyone tell me-- does it have pass-and-play mode as well as on-line play, and how well does it work?
No online just pass and play. It's a cooperative game so you don't really even need to pass and play. You just play the game together like Forbidden Island.
Really looking forward to this game will try to get it at the same time as the runaway game. (Next pension day)
Got the game on the Black Friday sale and I have to say I'm impressed! Extremely smooth and polished, and it plays very fast. Very nice futuristic asthetic and fitting ambient music & sound effects. I managed to win my first game yesterday with the Medic and the Researcher on the easiest skill level (4 epidemic card). The end game was quite breathtaking! I hope they add online play with full live chat as I would love to play with people who have more experience than me although it is great as a solo game for sure. Game Center achievements could also be nice. Recommended to people who enjoy board games!
Great news. Apparently all of the new roles and event cards from the On the Brink expansion will be available as IAP on December 9. EDIT: December 12, not Dec. 9.
That's cool, but if you were lucky enough to get the excellent and free fan made conversion called Fourth Seal on iPhone before it was pulled, then you already have all the On the Brink material and more. But I do have this app on my iPad already, so I might get the IAP if it's not too expensive just to have it on the official and more polished version. But for a fan project, Fourth Seal is really awesome, not to mention that it lets me play Pandemic on my iPhone.
True that, although if you read the Brink's description, it still is leaving out a fair bit of Brink content (the challenge kits) but at $1.99, with more little expansion parts promised, I'm not complaining.
The easiest way I found to win, but the least interesting method, is to use the scientist and the research specialists. You rarely even need to leave Atlanta- just keep handing the scientist city cards which she only needs 4 to cure a disease, while the researcher can hand out any card. But yeah, it's a bit like cheating and doesn't require much! EDIT: this is quite an ugly (and boring) method indeed, but generally it seems that operating with 2 specialists is easier. I'd recommend watching a few YouTube videos which have some good tips. I actually won my first game with the Medic and Researcher after watching a few of these.
There is an update out with one IAP for $1.99 for a new expansion, On the brink. On the brink adds: 6 new roles, 8 new event cards, 5 player games, and a new rule regarding how many event cards go into the player deck.
Should I buy the expansion even when I am still struggling winning the game? BTW, a teaching game is welcomed, my GCID is griffin611
It is a fair point, honestly. If you're struggling with winning the game, adding more roles and cards could just make it that much more difficult to get.
Oh I just get the expansions in anticipation of the day when it clicks and I start winning. Case in point, I did very well in Battle of the Bulge last night and instantly bought Drive on Moscow...
