You CAN'T use it with SERO

I'll have to get an HTC Touch Pro 2 when it comes out and stick with that.

Best Buy will sell the phone at $200 with no rebate to speak of, with a 2 year contract. So really there's no reason I can think of why you'd go to a Sprint store to get it.

Without the contract it's $549. Wonder if anyone will hack it so that you can use it with a T-mobile/ AT&T sim card. Anyway it'll be easier to get the phone tie free unlike the iPhone in the States.

Kartel, AT&T and Sprint run on different networks... Sprint phones don't use SIM cards.

I went through 2 Palm Treos and hated them. But the new Palm Pre is a complete overhaul. I'm not buying regardless because I'm on the Verizon network, but the Palm guys have done really good with the Pre.

Wow Deb, that's weak you can't use SERO with the Pre. Is it an issue of extending your contract? Did you ask if you can buy it outright and just do an ESN swap? Although it's hard to say how much of a deal SERO is if you have to flip out $600 for a phone instead of letting them subsidize it.

I'd never buy a phone without going through wirefly.com

They'll probably sell it for like twenty bucks with a two year contract.

Who needs ANOTHER phone when you have an iPhone? If you have a touch, I totally understand but really.

    England. It's a sucky place.
Being in the US and tied to carriers must suck, no? Over here in the UK you can get any phone on any network you fancy...

All of our phones have swappable SIM cards - you can still buy phones that are locked to a certain network, but it doesn't cost much to unlock them. Most people i know avoid contracts, since with Pay and Go you can get some pretty good deals these days and you're not tied down at all.

They have a "new" SERO which is pretty much my plan + GPS. My SERO: $30 a month. The "new" SERO: $60 a month. With THAT SERO, you CAN have the PRE. So I'm not about to pay double a month to get the PRE. They pretty much want to force people out of old SERO plans by not allowing us to have cool phones :(

Well, it makes sense, I doubt they are even making any money off you at $30 a month.

And it'd be great to just go and buy it on eBay, but they code their computers so that certain plans can't have certain EINs added to them. It's not a matter of subsidizing them, they don't want us on the plan at all with certain phones.

If the Touch Pro 2 comes out and it's not available on old SERO, I think I'm going to jump ship to AT&T.
