Actually, i was always against ipod/iphone gaming.... i was one of those haters but this game gives me absolutely no problem on my ipod touch 4 I tend to bitch a lot about controls and stuff.... but this game seems to have been handled properly. There might be a bit of a problem double tapping on a specific point, but that's easily circumvented by touching where you want to go and just touching the "walk" button This game seems to be hard though... i still lose on the Tutorial map ._. or the tutorial doesn't really say much(might also be this considering i had to figure out some stuffs)
Hmmm...I've actually been looking for a good TBS game for my iPod Touch and thought this might fit the bill. But I'm generally not great at these games and if you're losing on the tutorial map then I'd probably be screwed.
yeah but I'm losing because i still don't fully understand the game.... as for good TBS games I'd recommend Tactical Warrior(I'm hooked on this right now), Great Little War Game(think Advance Wars) and Battle for Wesnoth(Everyone keeps telling me to play this but i still haven't played it) I'm also playing Shining Force at the moment.... Currently on my Wishlist is Mecho Wars which looks a lot like Advance Wars... except for the units of course which are fantasy types I really can't recommend this one until i understand everything on it... I am having fun though Oh and the tutorial map only really shows you what some buildings do, how to move and tell you that the point of the game is to conquer castles... My last try at the tutorial map is still going trough... have like an hour and I've been progressing ever since capturing a Castle and noticing that after a certain number of days, you can go back and recruit more units. EDIT: WOOOT my 500th post!
Thanks! I'm actually playing Tactical Warrior and it is a great game. GLWG, unfortunately, isn't playable on my 2G. Got Battle fo Wesnoth when it went free once, but still haven't really played it (not enough space on my little 8GB!). This one sounds interesting. Lack of a real "tutorial" may be a setback though. Tactical Warrior is a great game to pick up pretty easily. Probably will keep this on my wish list for now.
I found Palm Heroes very accessible but that may be from familiarity for HoMM. The controls are simple tap to move and the objectives are basically recruit army or resources from map destinations and conquer; nothing too complicated. Palm Heroes 2 is a difficult game. It seems the all map pack is down to $9.99 with this sale too; but I might hold out for another $7 or less price (I paid full price on release so net price considerations hold me back).
Then I would say go check out Shining Force. There's also Uniwar but for that one I'm not sure Oh and Palm Heroes has a tutorial... but not In Game.... there's a website which the game redirects you to where you can find video tutorials.... I prefer hands on tutorials though... that's why I haven't check the site
First of all both versions were updated not long ago. They changed the title to Palm Kingdoms to avoid confusion with we-all-know-which-series-of-games, so maybe admins could change the title of this thread. Also the last updates improved the game noticeably. Tutorials are added, controls feel more responsive (although still not perfect, Im still having problems when buying units in the castle barracks). Oh, and currently both versions of Palm Kingdoms are on sale for $0.99
think i've written this somewhere earlier in this thread, but this is a great game, much improved over the initial version(s) also the game balancing is excellent and founded over the early versions for pocket pc and palm pilot devices. highly recommended. and yeah, also, a thread title change will be much appreciated
Yes the game is now called "Palm Kingdoms 2". ...and we've got at least three GREAT surprises coming up for you. The first one will be released this Friday. And also one HUGE surprise later this year. Even bigger than the release of Palm Kingdoms 2 last April
Palm Heroes 2 is a great game; looking forward to these mysterious surprises. Maybe one of the surprises is a sale in the map pack(?).
Nope, that will be the one coming in the end of the year. The biggest one. The one that's coming out this Friday is very stylish and conceptual. I even had a problem defining a proper appstore category for it.
Since you've requested a sale, the "all maps" pack is now $4.99 in Palm Kingdoms 2 Deluxe for iPad, Palm Kingdoms 2 Deluxe for iPhone, and Palm Kingdoms 2 Mac.
