It bothers me when people vote for a democrat. It also bothers me when people vote republican. I'm pretty sure there is disbelief on either side when an opponent wins. I hope everyone realizes that this is a TA award, meant to gather responses from a sample group of a specific demographic of gamers. These are how polls (biased or not) get desired results. If people are passionate enough to vote Aralon over mike tyson's punch out/fruit ninja (IB), then so be it. Personally, Space Miner 'space or bust' is still the only game that kept me up at 4:00 a.m. saying "just 1 more level." I hadn't felt that way since oblivion and fallout 3. START A NEW THREAD "most over-hyped" DEVELOPER OF THE YEAR.
This has been a banner year for iOS gaming, and as much as I appreciate Aralon, I would have a tough time saying that it's "better" than Space Miner (or Hector Ep. 1, or Crimson Gem Saga, or Chaos Rings, etc.). That speaks to the inherent silliness of picking one GOTY. It also makes pleas to the community to "like" a game better than another (for whatever seemingly sensible reason) sound more than a little desperate.
Most overhyped game has to be Reckless Racing. Since the price drop and an update I don't feel it is overrated anymore, but the hysteria evident in the Upcoming Games thread has even eclipsed Minigore one. Space Miner would get my vote for GOTY.
angry birds (insert every version) is probably the most overrated game of each year and of all time. cut the rope, burn the rope would be in the top 10. my opinion is also overrated.
