What map was it on? I'm not a fan of either Feedback map. Even the 2v2 map sucks. They're all rush maps with the most glaring FTA's. It only upsets me in League play, as when I end up as Player 2 on either of these maps against a competent Master player, it's almost always a struggle to see if I can manage to conserve 1-2 HP staving off his/her initial rush.
a little under 12,000 actively ranked in 1v1 leagues. Vast majority still in placements or friendly matches.
Not sure I really like this game or not. The bases can only take 5 damage, so it seems like the best strategy is to rush in with a shark. Also, maps, Y U SO SMALL!
Gl rushing with a heavy . I think that's a contradiction in itself. It takes 3 turns at least to get a heavy in base attack position and it is countered by heavy/soldier, which are available from the go in any map, and that's only if you have the good sense to medic him. So if you plan on heavy rushing, I'd only suggest that in glitch (as that is the current strong initiation, check my last post). I like the maps this size, but that's me. Since you're limiting unit production not only to wit but to factory spots bigger maps would take much longer, and LoS would make them more defensive, as flanking would be easier.
Just had a good and very close win against someone in a league up. Somehow I only got five points LOL either way this might interest some people because the scrambler won me the game. One false move and I was done for. Pretty tense. It's a pretty fast game FYI. outwitters://viewgame?id=ag5vdXR3aXR0ZXJzZ2FtZXIQCxIIR2FtZVJvb20Ymc1ADA PS I'm something like 25 and 4 but have not been promoted. I don't mind so much being at the top of my division but it would be nice to get moved up ;-)
Agreed; I think that the Adorables maps have just the right balance. As for the Scallywags maps, Sharkfood Island is tight quarters, but a fun fight, because soldiers can jump up from the spawn to get near the base in one move. Long Nine I am undecided on since I haven't played it quite enough, but it seems the sniper is quite vulnerable if Player 1 creates a runner on the top spawn and moves it forward a few hexes. Some larger 2v2 maps would be nice though. Not huge, just a few hex spaces more dividing the bases. I've only played ~10 2v2's, but I don't think I've taken more than 3-5 turns (of my own, not total count) on any of them.
Does anyone have a replay of a successful defense for the tank rush on Sharkfood Island? I've both won and lost to it and it's pretty terrifying quick. I'd hate to think there was no counter to it.
I don't understand how the placement matches work. I just went 4-1 in my placement matches and got put in the second to last group. What was your record during your placement matches?
I like the size of the maps. Is there anyway to see your stats like your win loss and who you played against etc.?
You can only see your total league wins (profile) and most recent 5 games with replays. Other stuff his hidden behind the scenes
Someone should suggest that. Like rivals stats and stuff. Edit: COMEBACK TIME! outwitters://viewgame?id=ag5vdXR3aXR0ZXJzZ2FtZXIQCxIIR2FtZVJvb20Yz89DDA Almost lost out of so many mistakes, can't believe I pulled that off.
Anyone else find themselves a little TOO addicted to this game? I sit here just staring at my phone sometimes for like 5-10 minutes stretches waiting for it to update and say 'Your turn'
Same here! I picked it up yesterday, and committed to buying the uber pack today! I've always wanted an iPhone alternative to Advance Wars, and this scratches the itch wonderfully. So what teams are proving popular? I'm partial to the Fuzzy Cuddle Muffins, myself. If I learned anything from Advance Wars, it's that the transporter wins battles, and the Mobi-Sniper combo is treating me well. I can't really figure out an effective use for Bombshell, he seems to need a really huge points investment to get going: 7 to spawn, then move, then armor, and he can't shoot right after. I've seen him used for defense, but... eh. Scrambler seems pretty cool, too, but I don't feel smart enough to play mind-control.
Check out this epic battle! I was in an almost no win situation and somehow managed to win! 37 turns I really had to work for this one! outwitters://viewgame?id=ag5vdXR3aXR0ZXJzZ2FtZXIQCxIIR2FtZVJvb20Yj6tIDA
Really wish there was a way to undo a move. But I guess you could then use it that to your advantage to see where the enemy is. Anyway, I'm a noob looking to start a few games. Friendly only no league matches. GC: Neehan
Gf finally played her placement matches and ended up in Master xP. Edit: 18-0 now for ranked games. Back in the top 25 of my division!
It would be nice if the game told you when you were having ranking matches. Like maybe specific matches that if you won you would go up to the next week. The first time I did ranking matches I got put in master but the second time I got put in gifted now I'm winning pretty much all my matches but have not got promoted. Hey devs what's up with the promotion thing? Even stranger is that my easiest matches have come from playing players in the league above me. Something is wrong.
