Yeah, undo is impossible and would completely change the game. Create scout, jump over near base to check enemy position, undo, undo, play for real.
I think it's good to have different speeds (including faster) for people who want that. Undo would have to be limited to situations where fog of war was not revealed, which would probably make it not very useful.
Different speed would fragment the gameplay, and the beauty of it is its simplicity and balance. Its not a RTS after all.
Excellent points guys. I totally forgot about the fog. You were right. I was thinking more about "distraction" mistakes. But for the fog's sake, I withdraw the comment on that regard. The "buggy" part is whenever I tried to launch a new game and my turn is already in place for another game, the app closes itself. For the long time for placing a turn, I'm sure there is a Internet connection stability, but it takes too long IMO. I understand the 4 days point of view, but for the future of the game, it should be less. Why not create a Fast Pace type of league? Let's say a day for your turn. Cheers,
I don't understand what you're saying. Some people are online more than others. Some people travel more than others. And so on. I'm not talking about "fragmenting" anything, just letting the people who want to play faster, find opponents who also want to play faster.
IMO, after adding feature to give up on opponent's turn and lowering time between turns from 7 to 4... this game needs nothing more then few minor bug fixes and fast play mode with 2 minutes taking you to make turn. everything else comes as bonus. Now, after playing this game for some time, I can easily say it's one of my all time favorites on iOS! P.S. developers of Neuroshima Hex should much learn from OML of how to make good MULTIPLAYER game.
I had a most glorious and wonderful glitch happen to me while playing The Frost. The game crashed, and when I reopened the game, my friendly match with The Frost had been duplicated, into my original game, plus a pass and play version of the same game! I took my turn, then when I switched over to him I could see the placement of all his guys! (Dont worry frosty It didnt change how I was playing, and unless you make a bad last turn blunder, you should win the game anyways) Still! I hope noone figures out how to do this on purpose, or they will end up ruling the leagues.
Because from my point of view, the game never was intended to be "fast". The craving for faster games is just a consequence of awesomeness. How fast should it be? 1 day? Honestly, now that the initial hype is fading, and most of curious people are gone, it's going to be rare to see someone be slower than that.
I don't see how you can know what anyone intended and I also don't see why it matters. Suppose the designers always intended that players take a year for every move. It still would make sense to give some people a faster option if they want it. It doesn't hurt you at all if two other people both want to play a faster game.
In my point of view it was not intended to be fast, otherwise they wouldn't have released the game with a timeframe of 7 days, only reduced to 4 due to many people quitting, as a fast way to balance that. This is was not released as a real time strategy game.
So what? You still haven't explained why letting other people play faster games if they want, hurts you in any way. And people can play 1 day turns or 10 minute turns if they like, that still doesn't make it a "real time strategy game". Different people have different circumstances and so they have different reasons for preferring to play at different speeds. It all seems pretty simple to me and I don't understand why you're against giving them the option.
OMG Frost I cant believe you lost that.. I am like 99% sure you could have won that but you blundered on the last turn >.< outwitters://viewgame?id=ag5vdXR3aXR0ZXJzZ2FtZXIQCxIIR2FtZVJvb20Y5-pDDA Will post pictures of our 'glitch' in a couple minutes Pass and play? WTF :O Proof I got a sneak peek of your men early on (not just a replay snapshot, since I have fog of war) This was early on though so i didnt see anything I didnt already know about, but that could have potentially revealed some really sneaky attack or something :/
Lol, when I said it hurts *me*? And I never said I was against it, I said it would make the game fragmented. At this time the game gives you 2 options to play online, and they both play the same. Having an option to limit the time will create at least 2 more modes. If the developer chose that, that was their intention, a turn-based gameplay where you can take your time to play. I assume that if they wanted or eventually want to be faster, they will make the option available, and whoever wants to play that way will do. I see no point in you becoming so aggressive. My opinion. You dislike? Good (or bad) for you!
I've had the same glitch once before. I could never replicate it once if I tried, but it happened under the same circumstances.
You must be really good. I'd like to play one with you, most likely will learn something new. What's your nick?
@Xexist: what a bug, you saw all my strategy all along... And blocking my spawn point gave you everything And I always loose the first match, we will see next time (at least this dont happen on the league)
Well I only saw that one screen, not like I followed your every move.. Also where you went wrong, on your very last turn, I think you could have moved your soldier out of the way, and moved your heavy in to my base and hit for 3 point kill.! You really did have me. I almost feel bad for winning but truly, I did not know your strategy!
If you guys are playing, mind posting the replay? I wanna see what a top tier match looks like. Always looking to learn from other people.
