Hey y'all, I'm new to Touch Arcade, but I just wanted to share my upcoming iOS game, Outshape. I'm open to beta testers if anyone is interested! I'll be sharing everything from the inspiration, to designs, to various game decisions I've made or features I'm hoping to add in the future. Gameplay I think it's best described as a weird cross between Dots, Tetris, and Letterpress. You start with a 5x5 board of dot and you and your opponent each own a shielded dot. You and your opponent take turns drawing the shapes you're given (intersecting them with your own dots) and trying to claim the most dots on the board. The game ends when they've all been claimed, and the winner is the player that owns the most dots. Joules and Powerups I'm still working out the details on how this works, but as you acquire dots on the board, you also acquire Joules. You can exchange those Joules for bombs and shields. Bombs explode if your opponent draws a shape through them. When they explode, you get the dots above, below, to the left, and to the right. Shields protect a dot from acquisition by your opponent. When your opponent draws a shape through them, the shield is destroyed but you keep the dot. Dots also get temporary shields when you own them and surround them with dots you own. Game Center Outshape is powered by Game Center's turn based gaming. It features leaderboards for Total Joules, Wins, and Total Margin of victory (or loss...).
