If you don't care about Fantasy Football you don't have to read this, but I thought it a pretty story-book ending and wanted to share. Our league was setup so that the first 13 weeks of the NFL season, was our FF regular season. Weeks 14-17 were our playoffs, no bye's, just two rounds and each round was the cummulative total of 2 weeks. I had the best record in the league at 11-2 and breezed through the first, two-week round. The other first roundup matchup happened to be the big scorers of the league. Although I had the best record, these other two guys had scored about 150-200 points more than me during the regular season. I was glad to see the two heavy hitters go at it in the first round, while I walked to the championship So going in to the championship it really could have gone either way. Not this past weekend but the one before marked the first week of the "Superbowl". The guy I was playing against was first place in the other division, and had scored the most points out of anyone in the league. At the end of NLF week 16, he was up on me by 13 points and I kind of thought it would be over. I thought the only way I could win was to have gotten a bit of a lead on him during the first week. So this past weekend... going into the Sunday night game I was beating him by exactly 13 points... So for the 2-week cummulative score we were exactly tied. The problem was, I was completely out of players but he had Chad Occhocinco going in... I thought it had to be over... I couldn't even bring myself to watch the football game so had no idea what was going on. I kept getting these push notifications on my iphone, saying that the score was still tied. Around the time when the game had to have been wrapping up I was still getting notifications that it was tied. I went to check out the FF stats online and to my surprise found out that the Sunday night game was over and 85 had been completely shut out!!! We were f'ing tied.... I thought to myself, I win! I should win the tiebreaker! I had a better regular season record than him (11-2 vs. 9-4) and I had beaten him during our only matchup during the regular season. I was stoked. I called my buddy who was friends with the commisioner of the league because I wanted to find out for sure, but I couldn't get hold of him. So I went looking through the league rules.... I found the section that deals with tie's/tie-breaker's. Our league was setup so that there are NO tie-breakers, it just leaves it as a tie I was so stinking pissed off! I thought we would have to combine the 1st and 2nd place winnings and split them.... BUMMER. I was really disappointed. This morning I checked the score and to my delightful surprise the scores were adjusted! My defensive score went up by 2 points, and his went down by 2, giving me the win by 4 points! And that's that, $500 is coming my way undivided !!!!! Funny thing is, I had the very last pick of the draft and didn't even have the best team by any stretch- my players were just clutch and came through for me when I needed them. I actually picked up Vernon Davis week 6 or 7 cuz somebody dropped him hahhahahaha My Championship Team QB: Tony Romo, Jason Campbell (backup) RB: LT, Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw, Joseph Addai, Derrek Ward WR: Anton Boldin, Greg Jennings, Derek Mason, Muhsin Muhammad, Antonio Bryant TE: Vernon Davis D/ST: Chicago, Indianappolis K: Ryan Succop Sorry for the long read but I had to paint the picture and give the details
Reading your story get's me pissed off... After starting the my first season of FF 0-4, I was extremely depressed. Through hard work (not lying, it really was a pain) and determination, I managed to rebuild my team from the ground up, with only Drew Brees as my only "drafted" player (auto-draft killed me). I ended the season 7-5 with a NEED TO WIN scenario to be in the playoffs. I won this game by ONE point. Then in the first round of playoffs, I played the number 3 team and beat him 164-52 (yes, a whole 112 point difference). I was feeling confident going in to play the Number 1 seed with me being on a 5 game winning streak. However, that was the week the Saints lost to the Cowboys and because of this, I lost the game by 3 points. I checked back today to see who won. Turns out that if I had gotten those 3 points, I would have won the championship by 70...
wow you got through the story? The second I saw the words football or NFL I began to vomit into my pants.
Ah dude, that's f*cking brutal This was my second year playing, last year I sucked big time. Hope you didn't lose too much $
