I saw this when it was posted, I don't understand what he does to win so often. For me I can win with the bad ending maybe 15% of the time ?
Yeah. I was going to buy it eventually, but the sale gave me a kick in the arse. Now my backlog grows and this takes over as I was immediately sucked in.
Bugs in v1.0.3 I was glad to see an update to this awesome game but unfortunately there are some heavy visual glitches in it : - When displaying the description of a technology which is an upgrade, the different paragraphs of text are overlapping badly - When visiting alien life, the name of the alien is completely off the screen, I can barely read the first letter of its name I also think the balance of probing at full power has been heavily rebalanced : I tried to do it maybe 50 times and never got a nice surprise, and my probe broke nearly every time. The only nice things I've seen in this update are the "Quick game" option which skips the intro and the fact that meeting the architects for the first time now gives a technology. Anyway, great job with this game. Really good and really addictive Remarks : I'm playing on iPad Air iOS 7.1 with the French version of the game. I will try to see if the glitches appear in the English version and post screenshots of the French version later
Hey, In this update, we fixed a lot of balancing issues to make the game more fair. For exemple, you can't forget basic technologies anymore. There are a few UI fixes that I'm fixing right now. Will upload an update pretty soon Thanks for playing guys!
Is the Telescope not considered a basic technology? My run got screwed over pretty bad when I forgot the technology, switched ships without paying real attention and then couldn't rebuild it. I would have made it if I could just scroll around on the star map: is that really an intentional feature of Telescope?
Has anybody tried searching for this thread? The idiotic Toucharcade search algorithm won't search for "out" and "there" because they're too common; even when put together in quotes. I had to do a google search to find it. (Yes, now that I found it, I know to search for Mi-Clos). It was worth it, though. Just bought it and couldn't get past the first few systems without running out of fuel. I'm off and running now, though, and having a blast. I know comparisons have been made to Various other games, but Out There most reminds me of the solitaire game Klondike. Winning requires a bit of strategy and a LOT of luck, but that doesn't make it any less satisfying.
Out There 50% off ! Woohoo! To celebrate its 100,000 sales, Out There is 50% off starting now and for a few days.
Just getting into this game and found my first ship. Sort of Jules Verne like balloon. Can I transfer stuff from one ship to another? So either leech from that one or board it and take from my old ship
You can't transfer ship systems from one ship to another, but you can use one ship as a stash point while exploring nearby. Also Don't forget to dismantle system of ship you're leaving behind.
Fantastic game. This isn't usually my genre, but gotta say fun as heck and the tension is high. The music is atmospheric. The hard decision about what to keep, build, dismantle and other hard choices. I probably got super lucky, but I was able to reach one ending on my very first run. I got lucky enough and got a decent size ship and played pretty conservatively about 1/2 or 2/3 of the way through to make it to one of the ending. Of course, my luck probably has run out and I won't make it past ~10 systems for the next 50 attempts! ;-) Can't wait until after work so I can try again and see something different.
That's the beauty of this game. It's part skill and maybe a bigger chunk luck. You can be perfectly fine one minute...and then your suffocating. When you reach an ending it is very rewarding though. I can't even begin to tell you how many runs I've had with this game.
Enjoying this game a lot but it's very difficult. Scored about 9,000 on my first attempt and just scored over 15,000 on my second go. I visited 12 systems and found a weird ship that resembled an iceberg. The music and atmosphere are sublime and relay the hopelessness of your situation perfectly.
I stayed away from this because of concerns about replay value, but at half price I'll take the plunge. ETA: Glad I grabbed it. Everyone should give it a try while it's on sale!
