I haven't played in about 2 days and it's like 1 AM and I'm like.. Just one game before bed.... Annnnd. I just had one of those games where everything fell perfectly into place.. It felt amazing.. I've fallen in love all over again with this game. I didn't have a perfect ship, I didn't learn tons and tons of tech from aliens, but I made it to green with almost full everything. (Funny story: I met the enemy for the first time ON the green target, so they disabled everything, and.... Didn't even sting lol) I will post some pics later of my epic (to me) run.
Gear I know this has probably been answered, but is there a thread on the FAQs RE the equipment of the game? I want to harness the power of black holes! Thanks
Next update This is a preview of what to expect in the next update. SCORING We have completely revamped the scoring system for 2 reasons : • We fixed some exploits • We improved the scoring system to make it more granular We're going to create a new leaderboard so everybody will have a fresh start. QUICK START This was a much requested feature. On the title screen, you'll have a 'Quickstart' button that skip intro and tutorial. We also added a 'Restart' button in the 'game over' screen. TITLES We are introducing titles that will be displayed in the 'Game Over' screen. So you'll can show off when sharing on Twitter. How can you get titles? You'll find out. TYPOS A lot of people sent us feedback on typos (thank you). So we have corrected them. That's all for now.
I've just found a WIKI : http://out-there.wikia.com/wiki/Out_There_Wiki Also, we have an official forum : http://outthere.forumactif.org/ I hope this will help!
Finally got a chance to spend more time with this, and would like to congratulate the makers on creating something truly amazing here. Loving every bit of it! I got to the green target today, which was awesome but was hoping I would be able to continue past the event without starting over as my ship and setup were top notch. It's all good as I guess this means more playthroughs, but it would have been cool to have the option to keep going. Thanks again and I'm definitely looking forward to the update!
Yeah man. Agree with the above poster. This good game. I've poured hours into it and I am really really good at dying. It's so random and hard that it's such a feeling of accomplishment simply to make it to another day. This is what I call a good game. There's times I pull into a star system with 20 fuel and 15 hull left and I catch myself holding my breath. Oh I don't even want to look at the screen sometimes. .yeaaaaaaah. That's what I'm talking about
Out There's music is really awesome, but after hours of playing it gets kinda repetitive. So I dug into the game files, and actually managed to replace the music with another soundtrack that I thought was very fitting http://youtu.be/sWmw0y4hASE
Finally got the game since I have a long flight today! I've been reading the thread but was concerned that to much might lean to luck and random events which could get annoying. So far after the tutorial I'm hooked and looking forward to playing it for the next 5+ hours! Hoping that the "300" stage or settings don't get boring or repetitive and that luck doesn't drive the entire outcome of each game!
Gave this a few plays so far, and I am quite confused as to how it got such high scores everywhere. It's just a game of luck, with barely anything to actually 'do'. What on earth do people see in it?
It's random, that's all this game is. You get satisfaction from entirely random events randomly going your way? I just don't get it. There's literally zero element of skill, all you have to do is hope you'll keep getting enough of the three main resources, which is entirely out of your control. What. Is. The. Point?
I can understand it might be a 'marmite' game (some love it some hate it), I like it as its something quite different. Many games have a lot of random elements to them, just like the way this is presented, very polished. Theres farrrrrrr worse games out there which people like (must not mention the game
I was a bit concerned abou the random nature if the game which could change the balance from strategy to random... However, I've also figured out that the goal isn't to explore all planets but I continue proceeding to goals and that strategy has given me a new look on how to play and what to do. I am limited with crafting as I seems to have an abundance of mineral ores and nothing to do with them! Still trying to get a grasp on this part of the game.
Once you know the game, randomness becomes quite irrelevant. I can usually end ~50% of my runs now with the standard, easy, green ending. Done blue and red => green a few times, too.
