No your last option wouldn't be possible, doing that at blue forces that ending. I'm pretty sure it's just the three options
I just did a run where early on I got a massively upgraded ship. That was exciting. Easy on the fuel, I whisked toward the red target, stopping only to meet aliens and fill up when I needed to. Got to a jump decision, and took a jump. It took me farther toward the target! Went a few more systems in, and fully stocked, I was stuck. The stock engine JUST couldn't reach the nearest star. Even worse, I couldn't back track since I jumped in. I probably should've explored more, especially with the upgraded ship, and tried to find an upgraded engine so I could make those jumps. What a fantastic game! That said, I don't understand why I'm limited to the jump radius. If I can see a star, and I have enough fuel for the distance, I should be able to get there.
I guess us mere humans just don't understand space folder technology. Had my best run today, score 50k+. I would have gone even further but being the dumbass I am, I ignored the 7 omega I had and instead ran out of fuel. :/ Learned the whole language and had my ship chock full of techs, to the point where I was strategically dismantling my drill and telescope at times to fit fuel and iron. I and others above have discussed tech placement. It's really important to think ahead since certain techs are much more effective at improving your ship when adjacent to the basic tech. Space folder and shield generator are the big ones; on this last run I had three additional techs linked to each of those. Telescope, drill, and interplanetary drive are others. Spread them out to leave room for upgrades later, and stash maintenance elements in the nooks and crannies. The geoscan is nice to have to save resources, but the interferometer is so much better. I still have never learned the ultraprobe; I had the option to switch to a ship with it this last time, but it just wasn't feasible given what I already had onboard my current ship.
Featured in the "best new games" section of the Spanish App Store. Backtracking to last Thursday, which I remember it was mentioned here that OT wasn't featured anywhere, I can't stop asking myself if games released on a "no-Thursday" can also get featured throughout the week (before next Thursday arrives). In any case, congrats to the devs
They still have not fixed that gorram launch sequence? Man, most of the time, starting a game from hitting the "Start" button till I get to the control is longer the actual play time... I think random events (both good and bad) happen a bit too early. But this is "rogue-like" so it is pardoned, I guess... In those events in which I find new tech, I expect to get the real thing, but instead, I just get the schema... I still dunno how the scores are calculated. My ship is blown by the very first gas giant (!!!) and I get >6.1K. I feel sorry when I get about 6.8K after visiting 3 systems in another... My tips (for survival): Fuel burns fast, way too fast especially if your engines (note the plural) are not augmented. If you ship is not low on hull, drill some gas is the first thing to do whenever possible. If you have some fuel but low on hull, doing the above ends the game likely, so get some Fe first, unless you have some really good shield. If you are low on both, I suggest you press that "Give Up" button instead. I tried both "heading towards the red arrow only" and "visit every (non black hole) system" approach. They are about the same to me. Unless your ship is still spaceous, make sure you use up some of the resources before drilling. Other than what some suggest, you should always redrill when that planet gives away stuff generously. You have paid to get to them anyway and you should know that nice planets are hard to come by. As I suspect, the "Death Seed" is your only weapon against the "Enemy", but I never live long enough to use it...
I'd just like to say I just tried this on my old iPod 4G and it works perfectly I'm surprised that a new game works so well, well just incase anyone wants to play this on the iPod4 it works.
Someone asked for a "Easy" setting, and I quite agree that it would be pretty cool to have an easier setting for younger audience or for beginners. Like, say, a setting where - You consume 20% less fuel/oxigen - Your hull takes 20% less damage. - Your equipment is a little less likely to break/require reparations The game would still be difficult, but it would make it easier for newcomers or people that aren't familiar with the Roguelike genre. Then, once you're familiar with the game, you can take on the regular challenge
LOL no, this game is hard, if you cant keep up don't be a whiner and stop complaining, get better at it or play something else. I love the high difficulty, without it I would have been done with the game already. I love how you have to be always on your toes trying to survive. I think the developer nailed it. This is callenging and is meant to be like that. No cheating, no IAP, no pay-to-win, just you, your skill and some luck.
Seriously? They have to be physically adjacent?! Nowhere is this mentioned in the tutorial and my upgrades all say they are "working" even though they aren't adjacent...
Look, I don't care. I can play with the current difficulty myself. But different players have different tastes, and I know that a game with a steep learning curve can deter a lot of players from buying the game. Lots of great games, even very difficult ones, have "easier" difficulty modes for a more casual type of players or for younger audiences. Finally, you won't lose anything in the process anyway, since you will still play with the regular mode (Unless you only complete games playing with the easy difficulty slider ? )
Just out of curiosity, what games are you referring to?: "Lots of great games, even very difficult ones, have "easier" difficulty modes for a more casual type of players or for younger audiences.". Because I cant remember any. Its either you like it or not with all the greatest hits I seen in my life span (35 years old).
Come on, you can't remember a single great game with different difficulty modes ? You must be joking First games that came ouf of my mind : - Double Dragons II on NES - Bayonetta on XBOX/PS3 - Starcraft II / Warcraft III on PC But there's ton of others.
Super Hexagon isn't Super Hexagon with an easy mode. Dark Souls isn't Dark Souls with an easy mode. Progressing toward and achieving mastery is a major component of these games' lasting appeal. What you are suggesting is to fundamentally undermine the integrity and design intention of the games.
