What else are omegas used for? I ain't wasting it to repair though... I got the life seed with omega to terraform a planet that's like the most awesome and animated scene in the game lol
Nope, I had unlocked enough words and they were saying that they wanted omega. I only had the option to give them iron and they didn't like it.
My only complaint is that it's hard to drag resources when the layout changes to small icons. Other than that, this game is so good it's scary.
Whoa. Just had an EPIC run. I had previously seen the green ending, this time I made it all the way out to red, but then made the mistake of going to blue instead of back to green. Worth it in the sense that blue after red has a very cool ending but not the "proper" one that I have to assume happens from returning to green from red. Trying to be vague to avoid any spoilers.. Has anyone gone to green after red? My tips after a few successful runs: -find a new ship ASAP -The ultra probe is extremely useful, especially after blue pops up and resources become harder to obtain -while tempting, try to limit the amount of planets you explore -the scanner can make things MUCH easier so you don't waste time digging randomly -try to focus on building equipment that lets you jump farther and conserve resources, you'll be glad you did towards the endgame If anyone has questions I'd be happy to help! Gonna try to see the last ending tomorrow.
In my experience Omega is used for repairs, refilling supplies, destroying a star, and terraforming a planet. Not sure if that's it.
Just completed the first ending (green) of Out There. Simply amazing, great and unexpected ending, very satisfying too. Now I'm so much more determined to see the other ones...they seem a lot harder tough. Stellar game, deceptively simple and addicting.....soooooooooo satisfying when you make progress.
Can you dismantle a base item once you get its upgraded version? For example the drill. Can it be dismantled once you have the improved drill? I'm assuming you have to keep them both, but things are getting a bit cramped in my tree blimp... Edit: I just now had no choice but to dismantle the basic drill. Now the improved drill says "status: working, requires: drill" with 'drill' in red letters, indicating I no longer have one. But the status is listed as working so... I'm assuming this means the improved drill is still operational... Still not totally clear.
You need both devices for them to work. For example, the ultraprobe doesn't work without the normal probe. The same happens with the drill and improved drill. There are a few spoilers in the previous page(s) as to what alternatives you have. The "easiest" one is to go directly to green (I achieved this). Read previous posts in the previous page for other alternatives. Drag it from one ship to the other, as you refill O2 by dragging the O to the right. What you can't seem to transfer is the technology, which IMO should be transferrable, but I guess this might make some games too easy. Omega is used for many things: +25 on oxygen, hull or fuel; fix any device/tech just with 1 omega; deal with aliens, etc. If there was a planet to dig omega from, I'd be digging ad eternum there
So, after playing the game for the fifth time or so I'll finally made it to the green ending. I won't spoil it here but the fact that the game just ends afterwards was a big disappointment. The tactic was clear from the beginning, just head out in the direction the green ending would eventually appear. I made it a lot sooner before the enemy appears. Here is a tip maybe none has posted before: Have a good reserve of iron in stock and do not fear to drill down to 8,9 or even 10. Sometimes you're drill gets broken sometimes destroyed completely but with iron in reserve you can rebuild it anytime. On gas giants you should come up with lot's of fuel this way. But I never found probing for a second time being worth the effort. Out There is a good little game but IMO it is just a weak clone of the Star Saga series. I truly wish someone would get the rights and bring it to IOS with updated handling (Star Saga was truly a pain in the butt) and the never published third episode. It was such a more rewarding experience then Out There is!
This is a game I want to love but don't think I ever will, it's good but not great, there are many many better games out there and that was not meant as a pun Gaz
As someone who doesn't like micromanagement games, this seems to have the perfect balance of not getting too deep, but keeping you focused on your resources. Absolutely love this game. Best of the year so far for me.
Just had my best run so far, meeting loads of new aliens and finding new equipment that I'd never found before, switched between 3 different ships but in the end ran out of fuel so could go on.
After quite a few runs, I have some suggestions to increase the excitement and fun: 1. Higher chance of finding valuable equipment early on. For the most part, the early game doesn't differ very much from run to run. I'd love to see something really game changing happen on the second or third system - some piece of equipment that cuts fuel usage in half, or hull damage. 2. If I find a new ship, I should be able to transfer my equipment over to that ship, or visa versa, without having to dismantle and rebuild. It creates frustration dealing with all of that in what could be an exciting moment. 3. This game is set to "Hard." I'd like to see a "Normal" option, that incurs less resource usage. I wouldn't feel any less satisfied "beating" the game on "Normal."
If I bought this for my ipad and it's making me buy it again for my phone doesn't that mean it's not universal?
